The doctor sent my mom home less than 3 hours after we went to the ER on Thursday. But she is still having a rough time.
She has eaten only fluids and soft foods for about 3 years. But now she is choking on the things she eats part of the time. Since Sunday evening I am spoon feeding her everything even water so she takes really small sips and small bites. I am very worried for her.
I know that her time could be approaching. But if God has a way, I would like to see the choking healed for now.
One of her granddaughters is being married next month. They are having the wedding in Oregon instead of Arizona, so Grandma can attend the wedding. It would break my heart if she weren't well enough to go or she died before the wedding.
Back sometime before 1999, her feet were starting to give out for walking. She was getting so much pain. But a friend and I prayed for healing of her feet and ankles. Those prayers were answered with good quality orthotic shoe inserts and sturdy shoes and God's gracious answer to prayer.
I know that my mom's time on earth won't be a whole lot longer if this choking thing continues. Do we decide to go with a feeding tube for awhile? Would God give her a temporary reprieve from this problem for her sake and ours? I am asking God for that so my niece does not always have to remember her wedding as being right after her grandmother died?
When mom is able to eat and drink without problems, she still has a great deal of personality and enjoyment of life. So I am approaching God to intercede on her behalf for a healing to the swallowing problem. Please join me in prayer for her, too.
Heavenly Father:
Please allow Mom to stay with us for a little while longer. Please relieve her pain and restore her strength. We trust and accept your will, always.
Amen
Prayers for your mother, whom God loves so very much.
You and your mother are in my prayers.
Almighty Father, please heal this lady and make her whole. I ask this in the Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

God DOES have a way. With Him all things are possible.
Prayers up for your mother’s healing and comfort, and for you and her other caregivers.
The last days are extremely dificult. I went through this with my mom a year ago last june.
She was 90 and still had clear speech and thinking but her body was just worn out.
She was ready to join her late brother and sister and she finally did.
Prayers for your Mom, MarilynBr. May Our Lord heal her choking issue. May He also comfort you.
Prayers up for your Mom and the family.
Prayers to your mother, you, and your family.
Prayers up!
My prayers for her, you and your family. Having lost both of my parents, I will take a different approach than the other good advice on this thread. Think hard and pray harder to see if you are trying to keep her alive because YOU are not ready for her to go. Put her welfare and comfort ahead of yours and you and she will be better off for it. Pray for the peace that passes understanding.
Prayers for your mom and your family.
You have my prayers.
Lord, you know the heart that this request comes from. We ask in Jesus’ name for the healing that this precious mother and grandmother needs. For her remaining time on this earth, give her health and strength, take away all fear from her and her loved ones, and may you allow her beautiful personality to shine. We ask that You heal her of this inability to swallow and we praise You for this healing. Amen.
Prayers for your mother’s healing and peace for her and your family.
Thanks, johngrace.
My Rosary this morning will be dedicated to your mom’s health. God bless.
PRAYERS!

Prayers up. My mom passed five years ago at 95, it’s never easy to lose a loved one.
