Rick is an old friend who was there for me when my husband died. He even installed some garage shelving for me when I moved into my condo.
Last week, the pneumonia and bronchitis got him and he was admitted to the hospital. Hospice stepped into the picture and took all the meds away because they thought he was going to die.
They don't know Rick, or should I say they don't know the determination of a Navy Seal that served in Vietnam. He is so determined to live.
But I have a request for prayer for him since he is home. Mostly for his soul so that he will come back to the Church and the Sacraments.
I appreciate your prayers because I know they work, and I don't think my exhortations and prayers alone will convince him to call a priest for the Anointing of the Sick.
Thanks so much.
Ave María grátia pléna Dóminustécum, benedícta tu in muliéribus, et benedíctus frúctus véntris túi, Jésus. Sáncta María, Máter Déi, óra pro nóbis peccatóribus, nunc et in hóra mórtis nóstrae. Amen
Prayers have been sent for Rick and his loved ones.
Prayers for Rick. God keep him in the Hollow of His Hand. May he and his family receive showers of Blessings. In Jesus Holy Name,
Amen.
May your own prayers for Rick be empowered as the will of God moves with His divine love and favor upon Rick. May Rick be blessed in body and soul through the intercessions of Jesus, Mary and Joseph to whom we appeal, for the Glory of God. Amen
Steroids are exactly what he needs, not cost saving bureaucrats!!
Prayers up!
Prayers sent for Rick and his family!
Prayers for your friend and his family.
Prayers for Rick and his family.....and also you my friend.
I guess they thought he was dying. I detest Hospice, even though they helped when my husband died. But I think the mode of operation has changed.
Somehow I get the idea that they are about helping people die now, rather than helping them live to the end of their natural life.
It irks me so say the least.
The high blood pressure stuff, vitamins, etc.
Long story, but after admitted to civilian hospital, they, along with Mayo Clinic, diagnosed his condition as BOOP. A rare form of pneumonia. You can Google the disease for its symptoms if you desire.
He hovered near death. Stunning dosage of Prednisone. He swelled up like a beached sucker fish. Then one day, he came out of it. Amazing.
Anyway, he was around helicopters a lot. Some aviators have complained of having lung problems which they feel may be related to long periods of sitting on the ground surrounded by dozens of helicopters, all with engines idling...
There is a doctor at Mayo Clinic that wrote the book on BOOP, literally...Best to your friend.
Prayers sent for Rick to the Great Physician in Heaven. May the Good Lord give wisdom to the medical staff and care givers during this critical time.
Prayers for Rick offered.
Salvation,
Rick and his family will be in my prayers.
Prayers up for Rick and all whose lives are touched by his.
depending on the type of pneumonia steroids would likely kill him. depends on if is bacterial. BTW hospice has to be asked for, so he or a family member has intervened. I know just went through a similar event with my dad.
They also misdiagnosed Rick’s AO, always saying that it was because he smoked.
GRRRRR.
You bet. Prayers up.
