Mormons even marry the dead by proxy (Vanity: The OTHER World Series)

Single until your dying day? Want to be married for eternity beyond death?

Perhaps you could contact a temple Mormon who could arrange a “matchmaker” religious temple ritual for you "for eternity."

“Perhaps the most unique thing about our temple ordinances," wrote BYU professor Daniel H. Ludlow, “is that they can be performed for the dead…Such ordinances as…temple marriage are performed in our temples for the dead and the living. The ordinances for the dead are performed by proxy-a person living on this earth stands as a proxy and receives these ordinances ‘for and in behalf’ of the deceased person. This work is often referred to as vicarious work for the dead.” (Selected Writings of Daniel H. Ludlow: Gospel Scholars Series, p. 365)

One so “matched” with a “wife” post-death was the Roman Catholic priest in Hawaii, Father Damien, canonized by the Vatican as a “saint” Oct. 11, 2009.

“…research shows Mormons have both baptized Damien by proxy and ‘sealed’ him for eternity to a wife named Marie Damien,” reported the Salt Lake Tribune in October 2009.

Per the Tribune report, Newest Catholic saint baptized and 'sealed' to wife in LDS temple? from Oct. 13, 2009, “There is no evidence Damien ever married, which would have been a violation of his vow of celibacy. St. Damien, who died of leprosy in 1889 after working among those quarantined on the Hawaiian island of Molokai for 16 years, is considered an intercessor for patients with leprosy (Hansen's disease), HIV, AIDS as well as for abandoned children, disoriented youths, exploited women, neglected elderly people and oppressed minorities…”

According to research provided by Helen Radkey into the LDS Church's FamilySearch database, it indicated that Belgium-born Damien “was baptized by proxy, given his ‘endowments’ and sealed to his parents for eternity Oct. 22, 1983, in the Los Angeles Temple. More recently, Damien was sealed to a wife, which Radkey calls ‘bogus,’ on March 15, 2000, at the Jordan River Temple in South Jordan.” (Salt Lake Tribune, “Newest Catholic saint baptized and 'sealed' to wife in LDS temple?" Oct. 13, 2009)

Is there a way to find out if one of my ancestors was “dead dunked”?

Yes. Best to approach a Mormon with a temple recommend in good standing with the Church, and have them look up records online.

Depends on whether your interest is professional or purient.

I hereby declare my intention to submit to those laws..."

I think that’s why I like the Mormons. They ain’t got a problem telling the Federales where they can go.

You dont seem to know US history...

When the Mormons declared war on the United States they got all kinds of “problems”..

The Mormons found that “telling the Federales where they can go” got themselves in prison for “unlawful habitation” and their belongings confiscated and the US Army shot back...

The US government wasnt as easy to take over as Joey Smith had promised them...

Mormons even marry the dead by proxy

I've never seen any CONDEMNATION of past Quotes, 'scripture', teachings, writings, or sermons by present day MORMONs.

What a place to find oneself!

SUREly can't claim that such things were perfectly fine, and, can't distance themselves from the sordid past that is MORMONism.

No WONDER Prozac® is served during Mormon Communion!

It just seems like the Mormons aren’t much of a problem. Not like the moslems. Just thought that is a more worthwhile cause. You know. Annihilating them before they get us. THEN you’ll have all the time you want.
