As the U.S. economy collapses, the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is going to begin to disappear. In fact, there are already an increasing number of signs that the collapse of society is accelerating. In cities such as Chicago, roving packs of young people are "mob robbing" local businesses, randomly assaulting tourists and shoppers and are even pulling people out of vehicles. This isn't just happening in the "bad areas" anymore. Over the past couple of months this type of crime has been common in some of the wealthiest areas of Chicago. In fact, many Chicago residents are now referring to "the Magnificent Mile" as "the Mug Mile". But it isn't just in Chicago that this is happening. During this past Memorial Day weekend, cities all over the United States experienced a stunning wave of mass violence. We are supposed to be an "example" for the rest of the world, but as our economic wealth crumbles we are witnessing the collapse of society all around us. So what is going to happen when the economy gets even worse?

I’ve found that many people out in the world, if I look them in the face and smile, and converse in a personal way, respond not only well, but with gratitude in their faces. And then of course sometimes we get into “jeez, the world is going to hell and isn’t 0bama horrible”. Then it’s really fun.
I drive the speed limit after getting three speeding tickets some years ago.
The total for all three was in the high hundreds of dollars and insurance went up. Just because other people speed doesn’t mean I won’t get caught if I do! I’m a speeding cop magnet.
You are the reason I live.

Ooooh, I like that! That’s going on my Christmas list this year!
The scariest thing about these felons being released is that there are no jobs for them, either. I worry about my brother and his family in CA.

Pray.
“They’re going to forcibly take it, and hurt you and your family in the process.”
They’d better execute a well-prepared ambush, then, or I will use the minimum amount of force necessary to ensure our safety.
I really don’t like Comrade Steinbeck, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Unless it’s a 24-hour clock. Then it’s only right once a day.
“Pray.”
Shoot.
Both if needed.
“Both if needed.”
Yes.
Bump
We are so screwed.
PING!
It sure looks that way. I worry about spending the summer in DC this year...I hope we get past the 22nd at Walter Reed before there is trouble.
I do feel that the people I see each day are getting more aggressive and surley. When asked how are you today, I have always laughed and smiled while I said, “ Better than I deserve” and had nice replies. Lately it is things like, “Well I am glad someone is ! or “ Lucky you, my day sucks and I have to work 3 more hours”...etc.
I saw three adults actually have childish temper tantrums during my shopping and errands today...things are changing! I might wonder why these folks are all not working during the day...but I know the answer. Our unemployment rate and no longer looking is about 25% here.
Part of our city is going to get out of control as school ends for all these 15-19 year old boys, with no summer jobs!
Read tomorrow. Thanks! i think...
