A note to mormon FReepers

FReepers should all understand that we can’t post ANYTHING without it being subject to analysis and challenge.

When I post a Catholic item, I know it will be scrutinized by FReepers and grenades will be lobbed at it by non-Catholic FReepers who consider the Church to be in error.

But history, theology and science make it nigh impossible to damage the Truth claims made by Catholics and even the perception of Catholic Truth (even people who believe that the Catholic Church is severely corrupted also understand that archeology, history, literature and theology all support its claim to be THE original Christian Church and that the world's font of theogical truth was developed and preserved by the one Catholic Church whose unifying earthly leader was in Rome until at least 1000 when the East and West split - and that split is NOT a split based on important theological points but rather on Church politics).

In other words, Catholics can readily defend (and has for centuries) the Church against any and all attacks.

But Mormonism fails in an embarrassing and absolute way when subjected to even mild historical, theological and scientific analysis. One must disregard reason to believe even basic claims made by LDS publications and officials.

It is an act of love to vigilantly halt the spread of such obvious error.

An analogy: a mormon is like a “conservative” “gay” couple in my neighborhood that is teaching their “kids” all the same moral precepts that I teach mine EXCEPT regarding homosexuality. It is LOVE that won’t allow me to overlook the glaring, constant, and severly harmful error.

I would rather all the mormons in the world cease their worship of baal even if it meant that society would lose the “wholesomeness” that mormon communities foster. God is offended when wholesome people worship baal, God is pleased when unwholesome people worship God.

What I don’t understand is why ANY of the religious discussions end up on the main page and aren’t set aside in the “Religion” section. I’m sorry, but LDS info is NOT breaking news.
