Sometimes a picture paints a thousand words...sometimes a comic...
ML/NJ
Thanks for looking anyway...
Peace.
I have to agree with ml when I ask, “Huh?”
The comic has to do with unseen (homeless)people needing unused (foreclosed) houses. Pretty simple really.
or them “needing each other”...rather.
We can't steal the property from those who own it and give it to those who do not. That would be sin.
Well said.
what comic?
"The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. With great power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all. There was no needy person among them, for those who owned property or houses would sell them, bring the proceeds of the sale, and put them at the feet of the apostles, and they were distributed to each according to need." Acts 4:32-35I am not appealing to anyone but those who have ears to hear. I do find it curious though that when we are attacked from abroad with the use of buildings by religious fanatics killing thousands, we immediately spend billions of dollars sending our young into harms way. Yet when we are attacked from within with the use of buildings by greedy bankers and corporations leaving millions homeless and penniless, it is of no concern. One could be reminded of today's Mass reading.
I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich and affluent and have no need of anything, and yet do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments to put on so that your shameful nakedness may not be exposed, and buy ointment to smear on your eyes so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise. Be earnest, therefore, and repent. Rev. 3:14-19forgive the confusion and my poetic license... Bro Joe
It’s the photo on the left of the text in the article.
And the church making a call for people to voluntarily house the poor is a wonderful thing. However, the recent history of the Catholic church in the USA has shown that much of the leadership has swallowed the "social justice" lie from Satan hook line and sinker. No one is owed anything. Especially not something that already belongs to another. Yet the church has at times put its considerable muscle behind government programs to steal money from one group and give it to another.
Any support of welfare or any other public entitlement is sinful. It is no less than theft at the point of a gun. Likewise providing "sanctuary" for illegal aliens is theft.
Acts 4:32-35
Also read Acts 5:1-11 the story of Ananias and Sapphira. Especially vs 4. Note that NO ONE forced anyone to give in Acts 4. No one adgitated for the government to come in and steal others mooney to give to the poor. No one gave unless they decided in their own hearts of their own free will to give, and no one looked down on those who did not give as much (or anything) as others did. God loves a cheerful giver. If you're not going to give cheerfully, don't bother.
Yet when we are attacked from within with the use of buildings by greedy bankers and corporations leaving millions homeless and penniless, it is of no concern.
How were we attacked? Those who borrowed sensibly and lived within their means for the most part have had no problems. Those who were unwise and bought way too much house for their budget have now lost it. Looks like God just hit the financial reset button on a bunch of people. The lesson to be learned is "Don't borrow what you can't pay back"
The bankers didn't force anyone to buy a house. I don't recall a single story of anyone having a gun put to their head and being forced to sign a mortgage.
That my friend is my poetic license. You are free to your opinion.
Peace.
