I Found Out My Church Has A Left-Wing Progressive Agenda, Does Yours?
General Board of Church and Society of the United Methodist Church ^ | 9/24/2010 | SueDinNY

I am a Methodist, my parents were Methodist, my grandparents were Methodist. When I heard Glenn Beck say that some churches have a radical left-wing progessive agendas that matched our current administration's views, that they are working with the left, I thought, no, not the Methodist Church. But then I looked up the website of the NAACP and union fronted One Nation Working Together.org. Going down the list of partners I saw unions, the NAACP, black, muslim and socialist organizations and The United Methodist Church General Board of Church and Society (I can't find it there now). I looked up the Methodist GBCS site and, Surprise!, found the Obama agenda on Global Warming, Health Care, Women's Reproductive Health, Labor and Worker Justice and many more. Here's an excerpt on their views on government: "We hold governments responsible for the ... guarantee of the rights to adequate food, clothing, shelter, education, and health care." (Social Principles, ¶164A)http://tinyurl.com/2excgvj Sounds right out of the Socialist agenda, doesn't it? Methodists, please, please voice your concerns with your pastor. If he/she does nothing, then escalate. We must have our church out from under the Progressive Left's thumb.

Use the right terminology: Your church has an extremist anti-Constitutionalist agenda.

Do a search on the religious affiliation of members of congress. (Just for fun.)

No and if it did I’d not darken the doorstep again.

I am current United Methodist Clergy but on Administrative Location because I resisted the left ward rush of the denomination. They couldn't take my Orders but they just decided not to appoint me to a new congregation in 1981. It is a Marxist front organization, helping kill individual freedom worldwide. As an example, see its support of United Methodist Bishop Abel Tendekayi Muzorewa and his (and the UM Church's) role in the debacle which is Zimbabwe.

The United Methodist Church has been going farther and farther left since it was founded circa 1967. They have lost at least a third of the members they had then. My mother’s family had to leave the small town church that they helped build.

That's right. The leftists and homosexuals have taken good words such as "progressive" and "gay" and co-opted them for their diabolical purposes. Conservatives are certainly for progress and homosexuals are anything but gay.

As for my church, the church of Christ, where each congregation is independent, it may very well be among the most politically Conservative. For instance, George Benson, onetime president of Harding University founded the "National Education Program" to combat communism and socialism and support free enterprise.

Anecdotally, I took trip through the South (where the church of Christ is strong) back in the 2008 election. I did not see a single Obama bumper sticker on any cars in the church parking lots I visited. It was not an exhaustive sample but did include congregations in Lubbock, Abilene, TX, Franklin, TN, Searcy, AR and Texarkana as well as the Dallas area.

My Church recently hosted an orchestra event from the Luftwaffe and received threats of violence from the Left because of it.

We have three Catholic churches in our area, all within 5 miles of each other. Two of the three I think are extremely liberal. The third is what I consider to be a “traditional Catholic church”. And, it is interesting that the ‘traditional’ church has a lot more members in it’s congregation and the other two are nearly bankrupt. Many have left the other two to join the ‘traditional’ church.

On Sunday, the church is 85% full at the early (7:30 a.m.) mass and the other two churches are approx. 20% filled.

The differences between the two ‘liberal’ churches and the ‘traditional’ is unbelievable. For example, at the two liberal churches, the cross has been moved from the center of the alter to the left or right side and the priest now sits in the middle with the congregation bowing to him.

The priests at the tradional church stick with the original teachings and are so upbeat. Everyone leaves mass feeling great. Not so at the other locations.

Just stop going there, or to any church that belongs to the National Council of Churches.

My family left the United Methodists back in 1977, when the local bishop insisted the congregation accept a new pastor who believed and preached that Mary was impregnated by a Roman soldier.

The Methodists have been on a downhill spiral for a long time.

When needs become rights,it is usually used as a hypocritical tool to grab power or unearned material gains by violating the rights of other individuals.

As a life long Methodist myself, I have been aware of this progressive stance for years. I am a devout follower of the teachings of John Wesley, not the crackpots in the Methodist leadership.

At the church I attend, there are many conservatives and yes there are liberals, but I am not going to let ths lefties run me out of the church of my ancestors.

If you didn't know these things about the UMC, then you're going to hate to hear this:

Claremont School of Theology has recently announced it is
first theological seminary in America to offer degree
work in Muslim studies. The UMC budgets about $800,000
a year for the school.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but your wake-up call to your
fellow Methodists is about a half-century too late.

My grandparents were Methodists, my parents were Methodists, my wife's family were Methodists. We are recovering Methodists. My family, and I left the Methodist Church over 20 years ago.

The Methodist Church has been organizing, and promoting the Marxist World Council of Churches, and National Council of Churches for over 100 years. The United Methodist Church has passed GUN CONTROL resolutions, has been marrying, and ordaining homosexuals, and lesbians.

Women preaching from pulpits, or serving as Bishops, is in direct violation of God's Word.

I Timothy 2:12

When a Church takes a political view, it is almost always a problem. When they take political views that conflict with the Bible, they are always wrong.

Time to either find another Church or practice at home...
