Well, some stars like Amanda Bynes use technology like Twitter to tell the world they are retiring. Some stars like Kelsey Grammar announce the end of his marriage. But today Anne Rice became the first pop culture figure I know that decided to break up with Christians, and she did it using facebook.
On her official website she posted the following announcement via her facebook feed this afternoon:"I quit being a Christian. I'm out. In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life.
In the name of ...Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian Amen.
And don't forget the work she did prior to the vampire books, those rather naughty, naughty works she did under a pseudonym.
Yes, that was a good book, although one could tell that she still hadn’t really accepted the parts of the Faith that didn’t fit with some of her other views.
I suspect she never met anybody who could sit her down and help her to understand spiritually and intellectually what it was all about. Or perhaps she was too proud to take counsel. She had an emotional reconversion, and now it’s worn off.
Prayers are definitely in order for her.
Okay. Well, nice knowin’ Ya.
Don’t forget the sunscreen.
Go to hell and burn.
Blah, Blah, Blah.
You can quit God, but God never quits you.
Whatever pain you have God will still love you.
You’ll be back, Drac.
Sohhhh, now she’s Anti-Christ? LOL
The loser in a talent contest to go on the front cover, of a box of cereal.
Yeah, she lost to Snap, Crackle, PoP. Some crazy munchkin offspring that play banjos.
I thought that was Cruise's best role by far. It was the only time I've seen him really "act" rather than just playing Tom Cruise.
What????????????
Not too surprised since she kept hoping the Church would embrace a pro homosexual position. I had prayed she would see the error of her beliefs about homosexual sin but I guess it was not to be. Her defense of historical Christianity is still a good read.
Then she was never a follower of the Jewish Messiah.
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
LOL!
You must be thinking Stanley Ann Dunham.
From the sheepfold into the suffocating box of groupthink. That is not a step into freedom.
"Well, Lah Dee Frickin' Dah!"
"Boy Named Sue"
Right, because we all know Christ didnt’ say, ‘male and female he created them’.
She wrote a lot of “Vampire” books
Guilty, and stupid!
Next....
.
She is another one of those spiritual followers of Christ that has rejected Christianity but not Christ. This is another example of spirituality, which means I will follow the Christ that I have invented for myself and create my own religion. I do not like all those things in the Bible that say homosexuality is a sin, so I will make up my own religion. Rice has her own personal Jesus Christ. She wants a Christianity that ignores sin and repentance, for a religion of love.
