A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say wooden remains they have discovered on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey are the remains of Noah's Ark.
The group claims that carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old, meaning they date to around the same time the ark was said to be afloat. Mt. Ararat has long been suspected as the final resting place of the craft by evangelicals and literalists hoping to validate biblical stories.
Yeung Wing-Cheung, from the Noah's Ark Ministries International research team that made the discovery, said: "It's not 100 percent that it is Noah's Ark, but we think it is 99.9 percent that this is it."

Yeah, I was as perplexed by Urroner’s response as you were.
Further, I believe that all (yes, I said “all”) significant cultures have stories of an ancient great flood in their history.

Also, to those who use the fossilized shells on the top of mountains, have you ever heard of plate tectonics movements and how this process creates mountains from land that use to be sea level. This same process is used to create the Dead Sea.
If people want to use science to bolster up their beliefs, then they need to be prepared for science to unbolster their claims.
Those who use shells on mountains as evidence of a global flood either must not understand plate tectonics or they shouldn’t use science to help their beliefs.

Who is this “Science” guy you keep referring to and why didn’t you capitalize his name?
How did this Science guy determine the age of the “ark” and the shells? Did he use the same method and is it trustworthy?
They dig up a jawbone out of some trashpile in Spain and declare it an 11,000,000 year old never-before known primate. Science gladly accepts the primate evidence as fact and start drawing pictures of what the primate looked like in text books. But someone produces a big wooden structure built with ancient boat building techniques on the side of a mountain at 13,000 feet and Science and non-Christians won’t even give that a passing glance.
It’s only fitting. There are, after all, more than one arcs. Several have been found this past decade alone. One of the little known facts of the Bible is that Noah actually built a fleet of arcs. Mount Ararat is lousy with arcs. You can hardly throw stone and not hit one.

How do you know that science “glady accepts the primate evidence?” Most new finds and discoveries in science which tend to challenge the current theories are usually greeted with a lot of skepticism and are challenged with a lot of enthusiasm.
Why is it that when science agrees with the Christians who take a dim view of science, those same Christians are more than happy to use it to prove their POV, yet, when science challenges those Christians’ POV, science is now a tool of Satan, seeking to thwart the work of God?

My faith is not 100% blind, as there is a lot of things to look at,but if it was, that would be good enough.
And you are right, i know nothing about science, but science trys to make me believe that oil comes from dead historic animals when there are obvious explanations
that would make a lot more sense which i will not go into.
Just that one thing is enough to make me distrust science,
but that does not mean that i disagree with them on every thing, it depends on if it seems logical or not to me.

I do not see how it would make any difference how old the shells are, maybe they were already millions of years old when the flood came.
Way too often, when people (P1) from one culture think about people (P2) from a different culture, P1 try to force the thoughts and ideas of P2 out of the proper context, P2’s culture, and for it into their own, P1’s, culture. Often that is because P1 don’t have a way of studying or even understanding P2’s culture. I fear that we in the world today don’t truly understand the text of the Bible because we don’t understand the context that it was written in.
For example, Isaiah is full of word play that is easily seen by those who can read ancient Hebrew, but those of us who don’t speak it miss it completely and the true sense of the scripture slides right past us and we are totally unaware of it. It’s not our fault, but we still miss the true meaning of those scriptures. But it’s not that we not only miss the true meanings of the words, we take those words and try to understand what they mean by means of words and a culture that are completely foreign to the original language and the original culture.

If all of the polar ice caps melted, the sea level would rise a few feet. There's not enough water to flood the earth to the elevation of Mt. Ararat. It's simple math.
Two questions come to mind: one, where was the RC testing done (and BTW, as a disclaimer, I don’t believe any RC testing WAS done), and two, well, everyone should be able to figure it out for themselves.
I agree at least to a point, however my faith is in Gods word and brought to me through the king James bible, thats my belief and if it says Noah built an ark then he built an ark
KJV of the bible.....why don’t you read the rest of it and find out what your protestant brethren didn’t want you to know......for 1,500 years it worked fine
