Iraneus was a student of Polycarp, who was a student of John the Apostle. Thats about as early as you can get.Just because Iraneus knew somebody who knew somebody doesn't mean he was right...
Paul warned us about people who were perverting the scriptures and Iraneus sounds like he fits the bill...
You shoulda built your religion on the Apostles and disciples instead of those who claimed to have inside connections...After all, the material is available...

And coexecuter, of an estate also fails to meet the understanding of the semantic meaning of the prefix "co" as ascribing equality. Coexecuter in law means joint executer, but the actual meaning of "co" for the Latin does not entail the meaning of equality. The way the English language is used is very imprecise unfortunately. Latin, and its far more precise counterpart Greek do not suffer from the same problems. Then why continue to call Mary a co-redemptrix in English if it is the wrong word??? If the Latin cum means with, why doesn't your religion call Mary with-redemptrix??? Or redemptrix helper???
Could it be that your religion wants it's member to actually believe that Mary is a co-redemptrix???

The piece in question doesn’t document anything promised in the title, and is based entirely on the author’s mind-reading.
Worthless nonsense.

The mention of Jesus' brothers makes it pretty difficult to believe in Ever-Virgin.
They're not kids of Mary as:
1. If yes, then Jesus would not have asked John to look after Mary (in Middle Eastern culture, it is the duty of the next son/son-in-law to take care of the mother, to violate this would have been violating the law and Jesus would not do that)
2. in the M-E, cousins are also called "Brothers"

Yes, Mary needed to be saved like everyone else. Jesus, Her God was Her savior, yes. As stated elsewhere in this thread by Ron Conte “There are two types of redemptive roles.
The first type of role is held only by Christ.
The second type of role is held by all who participate in the redemption that Christ offers.”

NONSENSE.
THAT IS PREPOSTEROUS POSTULATION AND ASSUMPTION.
1. It assumes that a robust language could not and did not distinguish between siblings and cousins at all in any degree shape or form.
2. It assumes that the translators could not detect such distinctions.
UTTER NONSENSE.

The meaning of the word co-redemptrix is clear. "Co-" as in copilot or coequal. Bzzzzt. Fail.

Or, like the comedy juggling act, “Brothers with Different Mothers.”

It was THROUGH Mary that Jesus came into the world. It was by her active part that Jesus came to redeem us. This is all the Church is saying. The Church has never said that Mary is equal to Jesus, only that she was was an active participant in bringing redemption to human beings who were stained by Original Sin.
The Church teaches that Mary was conceived without sin, so that she would be the perfect vessel for God's Son. She is the 'woman of the promise' prophesied in the Old Testament. I don't see why that's so hard to fathom. After all, ALL THINGS are possible, with God.

There you go again. Your meaning of the prefix “co-” would be what, sourced via a known dictionary of English or Latin?
To: RegulatorCountry
The proposed doctrine of Co-Redemptrix does not originate in English, but in Latin. It is in the translation from Latin to English where cum becomes co-.
