Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin wants creationism taught in science classes.
In a 2006 gubernatorial debate, the soon-to-be governor of Alaska said of evolution and creation education, "Teach both. You know, don't be afraid of education. Healthy debate is so important, and it's so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both."

People act like taxes are a given and that exemption is getting something from the government.
It seems, though, that in the early years of our country, tax free was the norm and not considered the same as getting from the government. That twisted reasoning only came about after the government started taxing the socks off everything that moved and breathed, even if it was illegal, as in the case of income tax.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.
I figured that it wouldn’t be long before the frevos would be having a meltdown about Palin’s creation viewpoints. They didn’t disappoint.
Ah, the big bang. In the beginning there was nothing... then it exploded.
I believe in evolution (I believe in Theistic Evolution), however, I have no problem with Creation being taught. What she said is exactly correct, debate is good. You should never take any belief, be it scientific or religious for granted, both have ‘evolved’ many times over the centuries.
Whether she believes in Creationism or not means diddley-squat if she’s not going to force people either way. Calling for debate on the issue is not the same as forcing educators to talk about solely evolutionism or creationism...which is something Palin said she would not do during the run-up to the gubernatorial election in 2006.
That single church is a pretty small sample from which to draw a conclusion. Even if the total number of Seventh Day Adventists were to be of the class described in your link the approximate 14,000,000 world wide members is a drop in the bucket compared to the 2,000,000,000 Christian world. That is less than one percent if all Seventh Day Adventists have the "censorious spirit" of which you "speak".

Glad you got the zot, liar.
Palin’s position was that both should be taught for but cratonism should not be the primary teaching; the curriculum would be evo based.
You guys are afraid...and I like it. Lying morons should be afraid.
Good, bring ‘em on...the kitties need chow!
So many trolls, so little time...
Not sure why you're pinging me on this.
She has been very libertarian in her views on religion, not pushing them on anyone. From what I've seen so far I'll vote for her with pleasure. (I wouldn't vote for Huckabee under any circumstance.)
IATZ!
This was too stinky to wait for me to check in.
It seems Palin has brought out a bunch of trolls and well intentioned posters. Newbies beware. We will look, and respond in kind.
Good work.
Did you know that more people are killed by Islamists each year than in all 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition combined?
Perhaps you should quit worrying that Christians might oppress you based on stuff that happened in the 1500s and consider the threat that wants to kill you today.
