All predictions for the end of the world which have been put to the test, and there have been many, have been shown to be false.

Why should we consider this one to be any different?

No different. No times, no months, no days, no hours, just talking about the Popes.

Hopefully you read the article’s disclaimer in red.

These prophecies of St. Malachi have always interested me. I know very little about them, but what I have read has been fascinating.

Thank you for the response. And I did read the disclaimer.

My trust in predictions of the end of the world is very limited; there have been so many predictions, and none has yet to be accurate. There is no reason to believe the next one will be any more accurate than the hundreds or thousands which have gone before.

I even remember a few decades ago a prediction that California was supposed to fall into the ocean (I think it was 1969). I was there at the time, and the prediction was a no-show.

All of this brings to mind the famous quotation:

It does not pay a prophet to be too specific.

L. Sprague de Camp

Saint Malachy
Prophecies about 112 popes until the end of the world
[and FWIW, we're on Pope #111]

It's only the end of the world (again), everyone!

It's Only The End Of The World Again
Words and music (noise) by Disaster Area
performed by Disaster Area
from the 45 rpm single of
the BBC LP 33 1/3 rpm version of
the dramatic reenactment of
The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe
written by Douglas Adams

Oh, I met you at a disco pod on Delta Nine
Your body was a mess; I loved you so
I killed my best friend to make you mine [N.B. rhymes with nine!]
You didn't like his face, he had to go

I took you for a smash in your daddy's car
You're gonna be a smash as a nova star
Our love is titanic,
Baby don't panic,
I'll take you down the road as the moon explodes

It's only the end of the world again
only the end of the world again
only the end of the world again
Again (repeated x 4)

Oh what a love! You wore me out
I almost had an overdose
You made me want to scream & shout
You never let me get too close

I bought you everything that money buys
And all I ever got was teenage lies
Our love is titanic, baby don't panic,
It's such a heavy load, let the moon explode

It's only the end of the world again
only the end of the world again
only the end of the world again
Again (repeated x 8)

Don't Panic
Baby don't panic (repeat x 3)
Oh!

It's only the end of the world again
It's only the end of the world again
It's only the end of the world again
Again (repeated x 7)

Brings to mind the old story of the guy who fell off of the Empire State Building (back when it was the tallest building in the world). There was an open window on the third floor, and as he fell past he was heard to say 'So far, so good!'.

That’s very fascinating. The last one remarks that “evil will be defying everything that is sacred”. It seems like things are getting worse and worse in the world, especially this country. I don’t know if it is true. I have often wondered if we are nearing the end of times, but there have been so many errors regarding prediction. As the Bible says, no one will know the time or the hour.

I wonder what Pope #113 will have to say about all this.

Maybe what Saint Malachy really meant is that it’s simply the end of the Catholic Church. Perhaps they’ll come to an understanding Calvin was right and become Reformed.

Thank you so much for posting this, Salvation!

I had heard about the prophecies some time ago and am glad to finally have them in writing to keep!

The return of Christ is very near!

I’ve often wondered about the Prophecies of Saint Malachy and after reading this (and yes, I did read the disclaimer and understand it), I’ve wondered if the word “Prophecy” should be used to describe the writings. Would the work, you think, be better classified as the “Revelations” of Saint Malachy? As you’ve noted, no dates certain, or much specificity but rather something like an exposition? If it were viewed more like an exposition might it not be the case that the Revelations are describing both particular Popes and Papal eras such that they may not be defining 112 “Popes” per se, but rather 112 Popes and/or Papal eras?I dunno, just wondering.

***the end of the apostate, whorish RC system.***

That is an unbelilevably hateful and uncharitable comment, topcat54! Your venom is unwarranted. May I remind you of what St. Paul says, “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32

I suppose it has never occured to you that the Protestant “system” might just possibly be heretical - considering that Our Lord prayed 5 times in John 17 “that we all may be one as He and the Father are one.” Ref. John 17: 11, 21(twice), 22, 23. I certainly don’t see that the Protestant “system” is evidence that “all are one.” To the contrary, the Protestant “system” is founded upon division. Your “raison d’etre” is to protest the Roman Catholic Church - not to proclaim Jesus. If it were, you would obey His words and be joined to His Church (see Matthew 16:17-19).

The Protestant “system” is the apostate one, not the Catholic Church. I was brought up Presbyterian, so I know every Protestant argument, and not one of them holds weight against Scripture and the teachings of the Early Church Fathers (which anyone can access). There is no excuse for ignorance.
