All predictions for the end of the world which have been put to the test, and there have been many, have been shown to be false.
Why should we consider this one to be any different?

Why should we consider this one to be any different?Brings to mind the old story of the guy who fell off of the Empire State Building (back when it was the tallest building in the world). There was an open window on the third floor, and as he fell past he was heard to say 'So far, so good!'.
