I'd like to ask for prayer for my brother-in-law (Dennis, age 36) who was just this week diagnosed with leukemia. This has come as quite a shock to all of us. He had been feeling tired lately (for 3 weeks or so) and went to the doctor on Tuesday, but none of us suspected this.
He has five children - ages 12, 10, 8, 6 and 15 mos. He's married to my younger sister.
The type of leukemia he has is called acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), a very aggressive form but it also responds very well to treatment. Please pray that the cancer will not grow rapidly nor spread to other parts of his body, and that treatment will go well and be successful, if that's the Lord's will for him.
Thanks so much for lifting him, my sister, their children, and the rest of our family up in prayer. My sister feels like she needs to be two people right now in two different places (in the hospital with her husband and at home for her children). Right now we're doing our best to care for her children so she can concentrate on Dennis and his recovery.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
Thanks for updating us. My prayers continue for your BIL, your sister and the 5 little ones. Prayers also for you and the rest of the family to remain strong and full of faith during this trying time. God be with you all.
Thank you so much for the update! I continue to pray for him, your sister and the children.
prayers continue
Continued prayers for this struggling but strong and loving family.
I'll say a prayer for him.
Thankful to hear that Dennis has completed his first round of treatments. Praying that his wbc comes back within the acceptable range, and that he will be able to go home with his family.
May God surround the family, the doctors, and the whole situation in His providential care, and grant the blessings needed to see Dennis and his family safely through this very difficult time whatever their individual needs may be.
Keeping them in prayer. God's blessings, too, on all of you who know them, and love them.
Prayers continuing for your Brother-in-law, Dennis and his wife and children.

DEnnis and his family remain in my prayers.
I'll put Dennis and his family on our Parish Prayer list for next weekend's bulletin so that our folks can pray for his healing of this disease.

Prayers for an rapid increase in his white count, complete healing, and peace, comfort for his wife and children from a Mom of 4 in NJ.
Amen.
PS. Keep us informed.
Lord,
you are our healer.
Be with this father
as he faces this crisis.
Strengthen his heart, body, soul,
as he goes under therapy,
Help those loved ones who watch over him in worry and fear,
and give them strength.
Guide the doctors and medicals staff,
Be the light he needs each step of the way,
and if it is your will, bring him full healing of body.
This we ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
