I'd like to ask for prayer for my brother-in-law (Dennis, age 36) who was just this week diagnosed with leukemia. This has come as quite a shock to all of us. He had been feeling tired lately (for 3 weeks or so) and went to the doctor on Tuesday, but none of us suspected this.
He has five children - ages 12, 10, 8, 6 and 15 mos. He's married to my younger sister.
The type of leukemia he has is called acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), a very aggressive form but it also responds very well to treatment. Please pray that the cancer will not grow rapidly nor spread to other parts of his body, and that treatment will go well and be successful, if that's the Lord's will for him.
Thanks so much for lifting him, my sister, their children, and the rest of our family up in prayer. My sister feels like she needs to be two people right now in two different places (in the hospital with her husband and at home for her children). Right now we're doing our best to care for her children so she can concentrate on Dennis and his recovery.

My sister called just a bit ago with the wonderful news that my BIL's tests came back clear. What wonderful relief to the worry and concern of the past week!
Here is the email update my BIL sent out as soon as he could see the screen clearly enough to write it! :)
It's a miracle! Praise the Lord! I received a call from my doctor's office this afternoon telling me the long awaited results of my blood test has come back showing 0.000 and there is no trace of leukemia in my system! They have called off all plans for any further treatment and a huge burden has been lifted from our family's shoulders!
I can't begin to describe how deeply grateful I am to the Lord Jesus for hearing the prayers again of hundreds of you, my friends and fellow Christians, and for choosing out of His great and undeserved mercy to grant me a miraculous healing for which the doctors have no other explanation. I've never had a doubt that He is capable of such healing because He is the Author, Creator and Sustainer of life and to experience it first hand in my own life is an awesome and humbling thing indeed.
Thanks to the many, many of you who have prayed diligently for us over the last week and I trust that your faith will be strengthened by seeing such a clear and unmistakeable answer to those prayers.

Thanks so much to all of you who have prayed for Dennis this past week as well as a year ago when he was initially diagnosed and went through treatment. Our God is still a God of miracles and answered prayer, and I'm so thankful He chose to answer with a "yes" to our prayers for Dennis!
They are going to do another test in a couple weeks just to make sure, so pray that it comes back clear as well. He has noticed no change at all in his physical well-being, so there was no other reason other than this one test to indicate the leukemia had returned. You can't begin to imagine the relief we all feel! May Jesus Christ be praised.
