My father, Frank, was sticked with MS at about 45, twenty years ago. Since then he has developed Heart disease, diabeties, and the MS has been worse. This week, he had a problem with Heart pain, and they did an emergency Catherization. They can't use more stints, and catherization won't do much more. He is undergoing some sort of counter pulse treatment.

I think the most important thing is Prayer, to complement the medical treatment, and that God's will be done. I love my Father, and I hope he can see his grandchildren get older, but, I sumbit to my Lord.

He is undergoing EECP. My Mother tried to dissuade me from visiting this weekend. I am going to wait cautiously. I certainly have a long list of things to say, however, I tried to make sure in the past year I said the things I knew I should. He knows how much I looked up to him all my life, and how much I love him.

Since I was in my 20s he has had MS, not I am the age (42) that he had first been diagnosed. So perhaps, I am a little upset for my own mortality, and then feeling guilty for that.

I appreciate all the prayers anyone would like to offer. I am a little new to the FR community, but there are a lot of people here that are good to know.

Don't feel guilty brother, I feel the same. I just recently found out my dad had lung cancer of which he is now undergoing chemo and one of the aspects that came to mind was my mortality as well, as many in my family died from cancer.

You're just a normal human being and such doesn't take away from your love of your dad. In fact putting one's mortality in perspective could have a positive influence if you think about it, it's possible that this is how our Lord wants you to react.
