Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
And your a calvinist?
BigMack
I know. Can you imagine going with a calvinist to, say, Starbucks? I mean if they really did talk like that in real life we'd be strangling them before the clerk put the expresso in the Mocha. :-)
But if you consider "Ooops, I stopped reading your post after the second sentence" to be an intelligent response, than please don't ping me to your posts again.
If this is the level of debate on this thread, I'm glad I haven't spent much time here.
Hint: If God wanted all men saved, all men would be saved.
Hint: If Christ died for those who end up in hell, then His sacrifice was ineffective.
Hint: If man can acquire his own salvation, then God's mercy is limited to what man allows God to show him. Bonus point: This is also what is known as a "works-based salvation." A real no-no.
These are just some of the problems with your theology.
You may continue reading now.
I was in the 3 grade for 9 years. :)
Don't mean jack, I know plenty of folks with good old common sense that can out shine most of the educated idiots that can't find their @ss with both hands. :)

I did answer, you just didn't like my answer!
I believe I dealt with that in the post. Is Christ refering to the unsaved when he says "let your light shine"? What light would that be? And who should it shine to? Does He say "each other" (here)? No, it's people NOT curently giving glory to God. So "before men" here must be "the world". And yet they WILL give glory to God because of the light that is shown by our works.
Sounds to me like a change is predicted to take place because of that witness to the light.
And does your Bible color "words of Christ in red"? I've heard that some do. Does it also do "salvation verses" in some other color? Which?
It amazes me how some people cherry pick verses from scripture and self-identify them as "salvation verses". Usually it's the ones that seem to support their position even if others contradict the interpretation... those are "second class verses"
The question at hand is does your behavior save anyone?
You continue in error. It is your "side" that came in here proclaiming that their behavior had saved people and that the Baptists had not.
Neither of you saves anyone. Not your behavior or your preaching (no mater how pure). Paul had more reason to boast than anyone but it wasn't "false humility" that put the credit elsewhere.
BTW 1 Peter 2: 11-12 makes the same point.
Incidentally, I may be going out of town for a few days towards the end of the week. Just didn't want anyone getting all giddy, wetting their panties, thinking they skeered me off! LOL
Did he die for all the people burning in hell cindy?
Cindy , can we talk about seeds?
Mar 4:3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
Mar 4:4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
Mar 4:5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
Mar 4:6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
Mar 4:7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
Mar 4:8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
Mar 4:9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Mar 4:10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
Mar 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all [these] things are done in parables:
Mar 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and [their] sins should be forgiven them.
Mar 4:13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
Mar 4:14 The sower soweth the word.
The only seed that has value is the word of God. That is what brings faith unto salvation . All the rest is chaff that will be blown away .
Mat 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive
Any seed other than the word of God bears no fruit, all the rest are idle words to God.
I just want you to note who it is that determines who has ears to hear
I know you said Gods word is boring to you ... but the Bible is clear. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God
I will over look your sarcasm and ask one more question.
If Jesus paid the price for the sin of all men , why does God demand a double payment ? Is God an indian giver ? Did He lie ?
How fair is God to demand that men "pay" for their sin after Jesus already paid.
