You have been officially snubbed by the swarm (regurgitatus calvinexit getus outahereamus)
Where does this stuff come from?

There are other clubs that would probably reject me, so I shouldn't feel hurt:
1. Hillary Clinton Fan Club
2. Bill Clinton Kneepad Society
3. All religions that start with the early letters in the alphabet.
4. I got kicked out of glee club in the 8th grade
5. My mom & dad didn't invite me to their wedding
Therefore, this rejection by calvinists is difficult, but my experience with past rejection has made for a "soft landing."
If you've been regurgitatus calvinexit, please take a post to tell your story. The regurgitatus sensitivity group will meet at FR's rostafarian smokers lounge.

"sorry - they grow from the same tree" Rev, we've been over this before. The PC(USA) is now Arminian! They have rejected T.U.L.I.P. -just like
- Joseph Smith
- Mary Baker Eddy
- Charles Taze Russell
- Joseph Arminius
When somebody rejects T.U.L.I.P. as all the names above -they aren't "ours" anymore. They are "yours".

When someone rejects calvinism they aren't arminian unless they accept the basic tenets of arminianism.
If I stop being a republican, that doesn't mean I become a democrat. I could be a libertarian, or a constitutionalist, or a Reformed.

Your logic has failed you once again, xzins. I never said that the PC(USA) was Arminian
for the reason that they have rejected T.U.L.I.P.
I simply noted two facts.
- The PC(USA) is Arminian
- The PC(USA) rejected T.U.L.I.P. like some other noteworthy individuals.
You made the correlation, I did not.

Why does this remind me of the Ancient Mystic Society of No Homers? You're just jealous because we at the Fraternal Order of the Knights of the Eternal Time Table and the High Council of the Order of the Eternal Exclamation Point (without Asteriks) have cool robes and hats and you don't.
We are the Knights who say Neener Neener Neener.

Hi!
I don't hang out here ever. I was pinged, for some unknown reason, I still am completely unable to figure out, by someone who keeps pinging me to threads I have absolutely NO interest in/don't know the first thing about, so I came over and said : HUNH ?
Though my daughter was marriend in a Presbyterian church, I am NOT a Presbyterian, do NOT agree with a lot of Calvinist doctrine, and don't EVER want to be involved in FR's religious wars...which I consider to be stupid, irrational, and have NO business on FR whatsoever.
Lovely seeing you again, no matter what the reason . :-)

LOL I never quite understand what is going on over here, way over my head!
Pardon me for interrupting this thread with a personal note to a friend!

It's all just internicine warfare, of the type that spurred wars, for centuries, in Europe and I want NO part of this garbage at all, nor do I care to have any trek with the HOLIER THAN THOUers, who frequent these threads. :-)

Jean, you're a good ole soul, but your words fail your argument (once again.)
Are you prepared to swear fealty to the "Exclamation Point!" or will I have to call the Thread Cop (P-Marlowe)" to get the Sergeant-at-Arms?

Hey, NoP,
If you're not a presbyterian, then you might just have the right stuff!
I have been the one who pinged you because for some reason you are on my list. (Are you, perhaps, a Methodist...did we ever discuss something Methodist in the near past, because it's a very new list?)
In any case, I will gladly take you off the ping list, and you will be free of us in the future.
The religion wars on FR exist because there are some extremely knowledgeable conservative persons, who are as knowledgeable about their religion as they are about their politics.

Their view of reality is that it is pre-determined by foreknowledge, so I question their entire explanation of God's foreknowledge, which is, of course, the starting point for their differences with John Calvin.

Read the words more carefully, xzins who claimeth not to be "Arminian".
The words do NOT say: "When somebody rejects T.U.L.I.P., as all the names above -they aren't "ours" anymore. They are Arminian."
Your little list is not exclusively Arminian, after all, is it? Your small, little list is comprised of folks who have felt they were "officially snubbed by the swarm (regurgitatus calvinexit getus outahereamus)". So they are, as I have correctly pointed out, "yours" -heretics and all.
The point I was making was that all the individuals were raised in T.U.L.I.P. homes, yet their theological problems or heresies are a result -not of their adherence to T.U.L.I.P.- but are a result of their explicit rejection of T.U.L.I.P.
That they all were not "Arminian" (even though they'd probably all agree with the issues the Remonstrants raised) is not the issue.
They are "yours" not because they are "Arminian. They are "yours" because they would also have been "officially snubbed by the swarm (regurgitatus calvinexit getus outahereamus)".
