We have just read about how the gay agenda takes over a church. It could be Episcopal, Methodist or whatever.

A very chilling story where one sees the Gay Agenda unfolding over the years to take over a church.

This one was an Episcopal Church. It could have been an Methodist, Lutheran, Presb. or whatever.

I know the bishop. He used to be our rector.

He is not only extremely liberal, he is the consummate politician. No help for the orthodox from that quarter.

The same thing, by the way, is happening in our current parish. It just isn't quite so far along.

The Gay Agenda is well-organized, and yes, it's certainly not restricted to the Episcopalian Church.

When I walked into the Parish Hall that evening, I found out just how far the priest and deacon were willing to go to push their agenda. First, there were more homosexuals present than straights. And most of the homosexuals in attendance were neither members nor regular attendees at our church. Second, to speak at the event you had to have signed up in advance. Only one straight was on the program, with a total of about seven folks speaking for the homosexual community.

"We have just read about how the gay agenda takes over a church."

I just sat here reading this and nodding my head, over and over. People, you must be vigilant. This same scenario has been, and is being, repeated in church after church. Watch for the signs, nip it as early as possible, and do not allow yourselves to be intimidated. The favorite tactic in my former church, when they brought in the lesbian, first to be ordained deacon, and then this past spring, priest, was to always include her in every meeting or discussion, knowing that most people don't want to be thought of as hurtful and will probably just keep still rather than raise any objections.
It works. Then one day you all sit there looking at each other wondering how it all came unglued. I think I'm going to print that letter and pass it out to all the members of our new congregation to read and re-read as needed.

"...was to always include her..."

To all you English majors, sorry for the split infinitive.

I will be saving this article to give to chosen people.

At least in the Episcopal Church, the vestry has the right to pick and chose a priest or curate when one is needed. I know that Methodists must take whatever pastor/preacher their bishop sends them.

In the interview process before hiring a clergy member, the basic questions that must be asked are simple:

1. Do you believe in God, Jesus and the Holy spirit?
2. Do you believe that Jesus as God's will was born on earth, lived on earth, died from crucifixtion and was resurrected?
3. Do you have any problem preaching, teaching or discussing #1 and #2 and defending them if necessary each day as part of our clergy?
4. If you are not being truthful about #1 and #2, you understand that at anytime in the future, you will be terminated for cause if you are not truthful?

The above should be used on anyone that is interviewed to become a priest, assistant priest or a curate.

It is amazing how many will "fess" up right up front, that they don't believe in #1 or #2 above, and that is not just gays. The brazen ones will get hostile and say that you don't have the right to ask them those questions. At that moment you inform them, their interview is over.

Which is exactly why if any of us are on vestries or go on vestries, we tell the priest right up front, we will not be yes men/women vestry members. You don't go in as a trouble maker, but when you see these done deals, regardless of what it is about. There must be discussions or you vote no.

There can be disasters with conservative priest who wants no discussions and just a Yes voting vestry.

They would have excommunication Christ for saying to the church's homosexuals "go sin no more".

Many conservative inclined parishoners have no clue how serious, powerful and determined the lesbigay faction is. They are also in places most people would not realize.

If this description doesn't open some eyes and spur people to get organized, nothing will.

These gay priest/bishops and those who support them are not only on a collision course with many of us in the Episcopal Church, now thanks to the Supreme Court of Wacky Ma., they are on a collision course with our President and our Congress.

Statement by the President On Marriage

November 18, 2003

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

"Marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman. Today's decision of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court violates this important principle. I will work with congressional leaders and others to do what is legally necessary to defend the sanctity of marriage."

Can this be moved to News/Activism? After all, it's much more political and activist than religious, and many more Freepers will see it if it is moved.

while it certainly contains politcal components, the original post at the top of this thread is theological in nature as are a number of the contributing posts...I'm not at all comfortable with it going over to news/activism and losing it's primary theological orientation...

I am so sorry that this sort of thing is taking place in a so called Church. How can the Bishop et al allow this abomination to happen? I am just sick after reading this. That Church sounds like a den of iniquity.
