I will be saving this article to give to chosen people.

At least in the Episcopal Church, the vestry has the right to pick and chose a priest or curate when one is needed. I know that Methodists must take whatever pastor/preacher their bishop sends them.

In the interview process before hiring a clergy member, the basic questions that must be asked are simple:

1. Do you believe in God, Jesus and the Holy spirit?
2. Do you believe that Jesus as God's will was born on earth, lived on earth, died from crucifixtion and was resurrected?
3. Do you have any problem preaching, teaching or discussing #1 and #2 and defending them if necessary each day as part of our clergy?
4. If you are not being truthful about #1 and #2, you understand that at anytime in the future, you will be terminated for cause if you are not truthful?

The above should be used on anyone that is interviewed to become a priest, assistant priest or a curate.

It is amazing how many will "fess" up right up front, that they don't believe in #1 or #2 above, and that is not just gays. The brazen ones will get hostile and say that you don't have the right to ask them those questions. At that moment you inform them, their interview is over.

Grampa, you are assuming that they will truthfully answer your questions. These are liars who worm their way into churches in order to injure them.

The use differing definitions of all the words that you use in your questions.

The best way to determine someone's position is to research their previous churches and ask lay people what they were like.
