You Knew It Was Coming (Dean Site trashes new Official George W. Bush Campaign Blog)
George W. Bush now has a campaign blog. Matt will have more on this in the morning, but in the meantime, inspired by a different Texan, I'd like to issue my own personal response:
Mr. President, I'm a blogger. I know blogs. Bloggers are friends of mine. And your site, sir, is not a blog.
We welcome all readers of this new somewhat blog-like site to use this as an open thread to discuss what you think of it, because the Bush folks aren't interested in letting anyone comment.

Here a blog,
There a blog,
Everywhere a blog, blog.
Democrats never lose a chance to criticize and carp do they? They probably get cranky when the sunshine streams into their windows in the morning.

Well, isn't that the nature of most blogs -- not to let the morons have a say? I read Dan Weintraub's blog in the Sac Bee, The Corner on National Review Online, Andrew Sullivan (sometimes), and the comments on RealPolitics.com -- blogs all -- and they are all closed blogs.

Like you I thought blogs were closed sites. Would be willing to bet that the Dean campaign set up these comments! They might not like our comments though because ours are not scripted!

Grew up in Farm Country in Ohio in a staunch Republican home and always heard you could tell a DemocRAT farmer because they were the farmers with a loaf of bread under their arm, driving a new car, while complaining they had no food and could make no money!

Comments are sunshine. Blogs that let you comment are better than blogs that don't.

Howard Dean is NOT for MY America! Just another lying RAT. If he even wants to be the nominee, he'll have to find a way to stop the Clinton candidate, Wesley Clark. He doesn't realize that the clintons put Clark in to stop HIM! Who wants somebody that dumb running the country?

I know who Bush is, but - Dean who?

"I have to ask, what's a BLOG?"A blog is something put up on a blogsite. A blogsite is a personal website containing articles or entries by the individual whose site it is, of more or less merit or interest. There are lots and lots of blogs. Some are nothing more than some high school or college kid's angst at having to get up every morning. Others, like Lilek's or Nepenthe Island, are interesting and full of wit and imagination. Here's my blogsite for an illustration.

Whoops ! The link in the first sample "Blog" is bad. And for some reason, I can't make it work properly. On the main link (in RED) in my previous post, that link for my bad "Blog" link works. Sorry for the confusion ...

In checking out the Dean site, it was noted that on their 'open' blog there were only comments of adulation or criticism of anything not 'Dean'. Graham's daughter got a pass because she'd written that Dean was 'a good man' after her father withdrew from the race.
The political naivete displayed in their quest for a method of 'innoculation' to ward off Republican dirty tricks is hilarious. Oh, don't I wish the Republicans played with half the ruthlessness that the dems do!
These poor people wouldn't believe WMD was present in Iraq unless Dean told them so. They'd probably drink a vial of botulinum toxin that arrived at their doorstep with an Iraqi return address.
The comments on the 'Dean Blog' should be VERY interesting reading when they find out what happens to 'deanie' when the Clintons unleash their assault intended to propel HRC to the nomination.
Howard Dean has the characteristic of X42 in that he has an elevated sense of importance and wallows in applause. My comment to H. Dean:
Mr. Dean, I'm an American, I know William Jefferson Blythe Clinton (and his dirty tricks), and you sir, are no match for William Jefferson Blythe Clinton (there is no vaccine available).

Did you post it?

I don't know what a blog is. The word is so ugly that I've avoided the whole fad.
