Welcome to the Canteen Music Dedication. Each week we bring our troops, their families, and friends a variety of music. We appreciate any and all feedback. If you have any music requests, please FReepmail, email, or post on the thread any requests. We will try to acommodate as many as possible. We hope you like the new layout of the Canteen Music Dedication. We try to provide a variety of songs for everyone to listen to. If you aren't sure about an artist, please avoid clicking the album cover. We try to give you as many musical choices as possible. There are some songs that are highly offensive. If you choose to click on them and are offended, please keep in mind that we have already warned you. So? Please choose carefully. Thank You! |
BETH'S MUSIC MIX (music selection) |
Just A Thought As much as I'd like to believe that I'm as hip as Beth and MoJo, I'm not. So? If you look over the Current Music (MoJo's section) and Beth's Music Mix and you find that this isn't your style of music, please go to the music below. The kids don't want to offend anyone and begged me to tell all of you. So? For the sake of your eardrums and mine, please don't complain if you listen to music that is not intended for the "distinguished" members of our society. That would be all of you in my generation. (MoJo and Beth would consider us "old", but we all know better.)---DJ Ma |
MUSIC "DID YOU KNOW" |
*Axl Rose, Guns N Roses lead, used to teach Sunday School. *Brad Nowell, late lead singer of Sublime, formed his first band at the age of 13. The name of the band? Hogan's Heroes. |
MUSIC "DID YOU KNOW" |
*Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith, met Joe Perry at an ice cream parlor called The Anchorage. The rest is history. *The band decided on the name Aerosmith because it was the only name they didn't hate. *In 1988, Steven Tyler hurt himself while performing in Anchorage, Alaska. (Hello Ma!) *Steven Tyler is the father of actress Liv Tyler. |
Check back next week for a full list from DJ Beth. |

A Degree in Choreography seemed a good idea until the Sarge realized that things went a lot easier in the theory than it did in the actual physical application.

U.S. Army soldiers watch a line of former Iraqi soldiers waiting to collect payments following a violent protest in the capital Baghdad October 4, 2003. The first soldiers of Iraq's new army graduated from training, parading round the harsh desert camp where they trained and promising to be part of a force that will serve its people, not oppress them.
The influence of French style social Marxism still has a decayed stench pervading isolated pockets of Iraqi Saddam diehard supporters. Their ignorant support of a destructive tyrant will obviously ultimately be overcome by Yankee ingenuity, decency, and dedication. Meanwhile, French people still smell funny, talk stupid, and regularly go on strike disrupting their very own Economy, and the relationship that they once had with free thinking peoples. Hey France, the next time that you need to be rescued from oppression, please dial 1-800-Byte Me.

GOODNIGHT TROOPS AND CANTEEN |
My fat cat is telling me it's time for bed; soooooooo:
Good Night, All! May God bless all who come to the Canteen. May God bless & keep safe all our troops & their families! ________________________________Dear Lord, There's a young man far from home, called to serve his nation in time of war; sent to defend our freedom on some distant foreign shore. We pray You keep him safe, we pray You keep him strong, we pray You send him safely home ... for he's been away so long. There's a young woman far from home, serving her nation with pride. Her step is strong, her step is sure, there is courage in every stride. We pray You keep her safe, we pray You keep her strong, we pray You send her safely home ... for she's been away too long. Bless those who await their safe return. Bless those who mourn the lost. Bless those who serve this country well, no matter what the cost. God, Bless America! |

US Air Force Staff Sgt Travis Stricker and Airman First Class Justin Pilant look into Pakistan.
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Justin Pilant sets up an antenna near here. Pilant will use the antenna to talk to pilots if he makes contact with the enemy. Airmen Deploy with Army, Direct Air Support to Targets
By U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Russell Wicke / 455th Expeditionary Operations Group
SHKIN FIRE BASE, Afghanistan (AFPN), Sept. 29, 2003 The sound of an incoming rocket is an everyday occurrence here. It is where being shot at before sunset is a typical expectation, and soldiers are always busy defending their ground from the enemy behind four mud walls. The Americans serving here are familiar with the loss of fallen comrades, and the area is often cited as the most evil place on the planet, according to Army Lt. Gen. John Vines, Combined Joint Task Force 180 commander.
In the face of such a grim environment, two airmen here offer hope as the Armys most popular redeemers in perilous fire fights.
Staff Sgt. Travis Stricker and Airman 1st Class Justin Pilant, both deployed from the 20th Air Support Operations Squadron at Fort Drum, N.Y., are the tactical air control party troops assigned here. They are the only airmen among a sea of soldiers.
Their job is to maximize the amount of firepower on the battlefield by directing aircraft to enemy targets, according to Stricker.
Were the experts on air power for the Army, Pilant said. We use multiple tools to help us get our eyes on the enemy, mark them for the aircraft and lead the aircraft to that mark.
Although the statement alone sounds simple, the airmens job here is much more complicated than that.
We have to keep up with the Army infantry in the field, Stricker said. That gets very difficult when were carrying nearly 70 more pounds on our back than they are.
The rest of the story

A U.S. Army 101th Airborn Division soldier walks along a line of former Iraqi soldiers waiting for payments in Mosul, Iraq, Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003.
Oh you knucklehead, dumb dumb knucklehead, marching down the avenue.
You are a hero now, and we will not forget your contribution. Thank you.
Joseph Wilson, a former U.S. deputy ambassador to Iraq, addresses Win Without War, a national coalition opposing a U.S. invasion of Iraq, in this Jan. 31, 2003 file photo in Washington. Wilson says officials outed his wife, CIA operations officer Valerie Plame, to retaliate against him for criticizing President Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq.
Radix makes predictions: This Dude is going down. He clearly has an agenda which is contrary to the War on Terror. This Clintonista imbecile thinks that he has the upper hand on the current Administration. This guy is as transparant as glass and he is going to be proven to be a subversive with an agenda. It ain't going to be pretty. He is just one more of the cannon fodder for the most despicable regime that has ever sat in the Oval Office. You heard it here first.
