Same thing for me. I listen to WLS via the net for Rush. Cut to "Here's what Rush said yesterday" just before he addressed the drug thing. Odd.

I agree. His statement on the drug issue was pretty lame. If he can't talk about it just say his attorney has instructed him not to talk about it. To say he doesn't know what he's dealing with is not being truthful. He either bought the drugs or he didn't. I can accept his attorney telling him not to talk about it but the lame attempt he gave was pretty insulting.

Doesn't he know whether or not he illegally purchased prescription pain killers? What facts does he need to gather to tell his audience whether or not he is addicted to prescription painkillers? Can't he say whether or not it is true that he has twice been to rehab?

beer_cpu_rifle, a lousy handle and member since October 3rd, 2003.

Freepers, first off I would guess there are dozens, if not hundreds of new members that joined within the last 24 hours. 99% of these are going to be liberal scum.

Second, I am really disappointed in the fact that long time Freepers have already passed judgement on Rush. These know it all low life's can go to hell!

Third, maybe you do not have the brain power to figure out that Rush is listening to his lawyer, which is a very smart thing to do.

Fourth, it is also quite possible that Rush is deliberately not saying anything, KNOWING that by not saying yes or no now the media frenzy will continue. He may just be giving them more rope.

The truth will come out eventually. You mind readers around here disgust me. Typical spineless conservatives, you would turn on your own mother if things get a little hot.

Go join the DU!!

Yeah go ahead, flame away you brain dead maggots. I really do not give a @#@!

Welcome to FR.

Lawyer's rule number one: "guilty or not, shaddup about it! Anything you say out here can be twisted to be used against you in the courtroom!"

Rule number one about FR: "Lines for trolls form on the left."

Unbelievable. I was listening to the WLS stream, and right as Rush got to the part about "Here's the nub of it..." it was suddenly interrupted by some clip of "What Rush Said Yesterday."

It was almost as if they'd timed it so we purposely couldn't hear what he was saying. What in the world was that all about?

How infuriating. How utterly infuriating.

Does anyone understand the technical explanation behind this?

I'm with you. Rush would be wise to wait until there is a determination on whether or not he is being accused of committing an illegality before admitting/denying anything. Rabid Freepers hoping to get satisfaction today are just going to have to wait. None of us will ever have to endure the attempted assasination that Rush is going through, so we ought to shut up and support the man until HE is ready to fill us in.

LOL....and well we should! Clinton corrupted the FBI just like he did everyother agency of government. It will take decades to recover.

If true, Rush will only be credible if he supports drug legalization

Or, if guilty, he could support sending himself to prison for a decade, like the little people.

Good point - If you're going to sue for libel, don't give ammo to the other side to say you've libeled them. If such procedings become a he said/she said contest, it makes things more difficult.

He should just issue a blanket apology and move on,

Why? Suppose he was set up? Why can't you wait until the facts come out, or is it the seriousness of the charge more important than the truth?

The lesson that will be learned from this is that the show will drop about 15% of it's audience because the media will not allow it's PC attitude to be discussed.

That's a powerful lesson- one reinforced by money.

Rush has won already. The media will change it's racial attitude.

He's doing two things here; A: Not giving his enemies any rope to hang him with. B: Letting his enemies hang themselves

C. Tap dancing until he can come up with a good story.

SOUNDS GUILTY TO ME.

Hey, moron. All he knows is that there's a police investigation reportedly going on but that no authorities have yet contacted him. You, moron, might not wait to find out what you're dealing with before addressing the problem, but that's because you're a moron.

Rush is guest hosting the Roy Black Show. (And he will be for quite some time regarding this particular issue.)

The prescription pain killer blackmarket is huge. I had someone offer to buy my unused Vicodin for $20 a pill.

What was the price on used Vicodin?

I am a huge Rush fan (yeah, yeah, seminar poster, I know) . . . But, I wish he didn't take the approach he did, lawyer or no lawyer.

By way of example, it seems like in the early days of the Lewinsky scandal, Rush would never have accepted from X42, "I want to give you answers, I do, but I won't until I know what's going on here." I think I can pretty much guarantee Rush would say, "Did you or did you not, Mr. President? What 'other facts' could possible arise which would change your response to that question? Hmmmmmm?"

Still, I love Rush, he is right more often than he is wrong, and I will not discount years of right-thinking commentary because of whatever is going on here.

Does anyone think this is a possibility?

Rush was buying legal precriptions from the pharmacist and his wife who were also illegally dealing oxycontin out of the back of the pharmacy. Maid was sent on errands to pick up the prescriptions, she also was dealing the illegal ones. She gets busted and implicates Rush.

He may have gotten a lawyer not to just defend himself (if he has to and I don't buy it) but to sue the Enquirer and this maid and whoever is promoting her. It won't be the first time the Enquirer has been sued.

wouldn't it be priceless for him to win a substantial judgement & to GIVE all proceeds after legal fees to the Republican party.... ???

Sweet
