I share your hope that substance abuse is not the cause of Rush's hearing problem.

But I saw on the other Limbaugh FR thread a post (No. 75) linking to a description of a report by the "House Ear Clinic" in L.A. [http://www.injury-lawyer-network.com/hydro.htm]. The report says that prolonged use of Vicodin can result in the type of hearing loss Limbaugh suffered. The report also says that updated findings on this drug side-effect were to be delivered at a conference in January 2002 (note timing).

Perhaps coincidentally, Rush stated on his show that he was treated by the House Ear Clinic for his hearing condition (a fact not noted on the other thread, to my knowledge).I remember this clearly because I have considered contacting the House Ear Clinic for a completely different type of hearing condition after hearing Rush speak so highly of them.

I hope, for Rush's sake, that this is just a coincidence, and that he was not one of the patients in the study conducted by the clinic. I feel horrible for Rush.

One can only hope Rush hasn't "Newted" himself by doing something stupid enough to take himself out after the left has done all they could and accomplished nothing in doing so.

You can never tell, but my guess is that the Dems are in a complete meltdown and throwing mud without smelling it before they throw. I think it will backfire. Rush sounded great yesterday and defended himself very well today on the McNabb thing, BTW.

I absolutely agree. And you can add the unions, trial lawyers and academia. When you think about, the liberals control some of the most infleuntial sectors of our society. As ominous as that sounds, they still can't win elections without cheating and lying. This at least tells ya a little something about the sensibility of the American people...it's not all bad, yet. But we can't let it get any worse.

Look, I'm all for Rush exposing the hypocrits in the press. It is entertaining. The most entertaining thing about this whole ordeal is that Rush has the collective media's panties in a bunch and some of us are just having a grand ole time watching them try to publicly pull those panties out of their private crevices.

what they did to bill bennet was also grotesque. his gambling habits were supposed to be confidential. if you remember bennet was doing teach ins in favor of war in iraq. he was destroyed, we can't dismiss the possibility that CIA types (who have historically used tabloids to destroy enemies) is seeking to destroy people that support bush.

I want so badly to disagree with you but I can't. I brought Bennett up earlier on this thread, I still don't understand why his confidential activities were made public. And you are absolutely right about the use of tabloids. I am enraged about all of this and every Republican I know (since the Wilson stuff started over the weekend) feels the same way. These are not hard right wingers either, fairly moderate people.
