Are you afraid to fly since 9/11? Think twice before you get on this airplane...
Maybe they should make this cartoon into a movie?

Do you really think that decent Americans are "going to shoot the pilot"? Your contempt for your fellow citizens really shows.
Fellow citizens also shoot up subways, stores, crowded areas, etc. If you didn't catch it at first, the pilot remark wasn't serious.
To: Mulder
BTW, what other Rights do you want to take away from these "strangers"? The Right to vote? The Right to a jury trial? The Right to own property? The Right to Free speech?
No, I don't want to take away any of those things. I'm arguing against something which can KILL other people. As in, bangbangDEAD. None of those other things do that.

"It doesn't take a brainiac to tell you things are different nowdays; its a calculated risk these days because you really don't know who is sitting next to you!"
Hmmmm...guess our young people shouldn't join our armed forces, either?

I took early retirement after 14 years with an airline, still have flying benefits (though not as great as before!), I fly all the time, other than it being a pain in the butt (they took the blades off my razor last week in Mexico) I will continue.
I've had to buy acutal tickets lately, hope to go to Cambodia in November, just gotta remember to stick to the walking paths there...

Fellow citizens also shoot up subways, stores, crowded areas, etc. So take those that do, put them before a jury, and hang them from a tree if found guilty.
Leave the rest of us alone.
Problem solved.

It's your choice.

If I wanted an anal probe, I'd fly by UFO... A ridiculous comment.

Ah! You're for forbidding people from having access to cars?
That's being juvenile. Last time I checked, cars were created as a method of transportation.

I disagree and you sound delirious.

BTW, if you really want to kill a whole bunch of people, NOTHING beats voting unwisely...

Perhaps. OTOH perhaps you haven't been through a FULL TSA search.

Me too. It seemed as though the airlines would just use a plane until it fell apart in mid-air. We replace our cars with new ones every few years, but airliners just run those planes till they crash. No thanks. Is your car stripped down to the frame every few years and x-rayed from front to back? Is your car worked on and checked every day to ensure that everything is in order? Does your car have an extensive tracking program of every single event that happened in the life of your car? I've flown on 60 year old DC-3's, ancient Ilyushin 62 and Tupolev 134 planes with confidence. I've seen some amazing work on planes that are older than its pilots. Trust me, a 20 year or 30 year old airliner in America is safer than your car.

I'm arguing against something which can KILL other people. As in, bangbangDEAD. None of those other things do that. Wrong! Speech has resulted in far more deaths than guns. Nazism, Communism, Fascism, etc..... were all the result of ideas (speech) being propagated.
One reason those ideas haven't taken hold in America is because there are 200 million firearms in private hands, along with billions of rounds of ammo.
No, I don't want to take away any of those things
So you do want to take away guns? As such, you are advocating overthrowing the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
Millions of Patriots who took an oath to defend that Constitution will have a real problem with that. And "their problem" will quickly become the problem of every enemy of the Constitution, should the traitors ever attempt to overthrow the Bill of Rights.
I know which side my money will be on.

Then your problem isn't really with people being killed, is it?

BTW, if you really want to kill a whole bunch of people, NOTHING beats voting unwisely Exactly. History shows us what evil can occur when the people are disarmed.

I'll say a prayer for you. :)
Dh is an airline pilot. He's also a military pilot who shuttles generals and VIPs around.
Having said that, my biggest worry when flying, is that I will get stuck in some really long line with two small children, and get separated from them by some TSA person who's tagged me for a thorough search.
I flew two months ago with the kids...standby, mind you. I was amazed with the screeners on that day...and how smoothly everything went. The plane was about 2/3 full...we backed from the gate on time. I remembered to bring my own food for myself and the kids.
Life was really good to me that day. :)
To: Concentrate
All the american airlines are safe, however, United and American are not exactly the leaders in safety. American had the A300 lose a tail at JFK, they had a MD80 crash in Little Rock, and they ran a 757 directly into a mountainside in Columbia, all in the last 5 years. United had the crash landing of the DC-10 in Souix City, the cargo door pop on a 747-200 on the way to Hawaii, and they ran a 737-300 head on into the ground outside of Colorado Springs. US Airways had 2 crashes at LaGuardia and one at LAX in the last few years.
I'll take Southwest, America West, Frontier, Jet Blue, and ATA, no fatalities.....
