Are you afraid to fly since 9/11? Think twice before you get on this airplane...
Maybe they should make this cartoon into a movie?

I change planes in Chicago, but do not have to leave the terminal.

Or, rather, concourse. I am not up on airport terminology... it's been ten years.

You need to read the fine print of their "limits of liability". The airlines have no legal obligation to reimbuse you for items of that type that "go missing" from your checked baggage.

Lay-over in Chicago? Best bring a sandwich unless you want to pass through security again.

" Things are not as dire as some would have you believe. Unless you are flying out of Chicago/Midway, that's a different story."Unless it has improved recently, JFK is another airport to avoid.

I don't plan on going through security twice! :) Bringing a good book, cd player and cds, (or is that a bad idea?) and something to eat.

You have really received some good advice. In these times patience is really a virtue.
Check airport for suggested time of arrival some airport secuity lines are long.
Put all jewelry in carryon or(purse) try not to wear any metal anywhere.
Do not lock suitcase.
Do all this and try smiling at the same time.
Have a great time!!

It happen that I've flown with greater frequency since 9/11. I was always mildly unnerved by the whole thing, and that hasn't really changed much. I haven't really noticed the security being more intrusive either. You can't wait in the terminal if you're picking somebody up, but that's the only change I've seen.

"THEN I want a comfortable seat."Yeah!! And I want all the seats to be unmovable! If there is no leg room, I don't want the seat in front of me in my lap!! The paying public being treated like herds of animals, is my biggest complaint.

Do you have a problem with that, or do you just have a problem with us serfs exercising that Right?
I just don't agree with the idea of anybody who isn't responsible for "public safety" carrying a gun. I mean, seriously people, do you carry a gun for FUN? Guns are used to blow body parts off of bodies. I don't fancy the idea of anyone not specialized in areas requiring guns carrying one around. When would it be alright to use it? Sure, if a madman is threatening to hijack a plane, sure, but what if it was a false alarm? Shoot him anyway? Shoot the people with him/her for being there? Shoot the pilot for taking off in the first place?
Do have the same problem with citizens carrying guns in a crowded restaurant or shopping mall?
Yeah, I do.
Yeah.. disarm everyone except for the government. That did wonders in Cambodia and Germany.
Would you rather everyone walk around with a loaded .32 on their hip?

Would you rather everyone walk around with a loaded .32 on their hip? Wouldn't bother me...everybody would be a lot more civil towards one another, that is for sure.

I mean, seriously people, do you carry a gun for FUN? Guns are used to blow body parts off of bodies.
We carry them to protect our lives and property, as well as the lives of others. Also because it is our Right to do so. There are millions of Americans who carry guns on a daily basis.

Do you really think that decent Americans are "going to shoot the pilot"? Your contempt for your fellow citizens really shows.
Yeah, I do (have a problem with citizens carrying guns in a crowded restaurant or shopping mall)
Tough sh!t. Millions of Americans do so on a regular basis. You've probably passed many Americans carrying guns and didn't even realize it. The world didn't end.
Would you rather everyone walk around with a loaded .32 on their hip?
LOL! A .32 is a wimpy cartridge. I'd rather my fellow Americans walk around with a loaded .45 or .357. Even a 9mm would be better than nothing.
I don't have a problem with other Americans being armed. It is a Right which millions have shed blood for.
I DO have a problem with any government that attempts to gain a monopoly on the possession of weapons. History shows that genocide and slavery are the next steps.

I take a Hobbes-like approach to things. What with all the hate groups, gangs, mentally ill, criminal, and generally "bad" people in the world, I disapprove of guns. I see that it has become a necessary evil, but why perpetuate it?
To: TwilightXi
I'd be more wary of strangers, that's for sure You have no idea of how many people in this country carry guns. Some have "permits" from the state (anywhere from 2-4 million). Others live in states where none is required (Vermont, Alaska, etc...). And others simply choose to ignore unconstitional edicts which "ban" them from carrying weapons for self-defense.
BTW, what other Rights do you want to take away from these "strangers"? The Right to vote? The Right to a jury trial? The Right to own property? The Right to Free speech?

Thanks for the cartoon.
I'd be eager to fly if I could afford it. Even more eager to take some terrorist bastard by the balls and usher him into the netherworld free of charge.
