THE DEBATE! DID YOU SEE WHAT I SAW?

THE DEBATE! DID YOU SEE WHAT I SAW?

A TRUE CAUSE FOR ALARM

While watching the debate last evening between the nine candidates for the nomination for the Democratic party, I was struck by the differences between those people on the TV and the people that I interact with everyday. It wasn't just the level of rhetoric spoken by the participants, one expects that the parties in a contest must clarify the divisions separating each, but it was the level of unmitigated bias and hatred loaded in the questions posed by the supposed news journalist, the answers given, and the audience responses. It was not only shocking, but very sad.

There seemed to be a visceral hatred, and a deep gulf between what we think of America in general and what they think of Americans in particular.

They have honed the art of fear, knowing if they keep an uninformed populous in constant fear, and demonize the other side with lies and falsehoods, unharnessed by a willing accomplice in the free press, they know that in the minds of far too many, Fear wins. Healthcare, Social Security, War, Recession, Race..THEY ARE COMING!

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."
-H. L. Mencken

Now please don't get me wrong, I am not a Milquetoast kind of guy on any issue, (HA!) but I am an eternal optimist by nature. It wasn't at all a surprise that I wouldn't agree with most, if any of the positions taken by every candidate on the Democrat ticket. Nor am I suggesting that all Democrats are un-American or anti-American because they disagree with me. I am afraid that we disagree on what are the most fundamental tenants of our form of government, natural law and a moral culture. They cloak their insidious message in a controlled dialogue, and feeding empty platitudes, like fairness, equality, inclusion, and diversity. When it is the very opposite that they practice.

"There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action."
-Johann von Goethe

There was an absence of pride in the tone of every speaker. There were no words of optimism, no claim of greatness on their part. Only lesser degrees of despair. At one point they argued over which one would take back the Bush tax refund money quicker, that the viewers had just received in the mail. Much to my shock, to the rousing applause of the audience. They couldn't articulate enough their utter disgust of our victory in Iraq, and their love of an international control of our sovereignty.

"The politicians don't just want your money. They want your soul. They want you to be worn down by taxes until you are dependent and helpless. When you subsidize poverty and failure, you get more of both."
-James Dale Davidson

They fed the illusion, that we must take more from the Americans that produce, and give more domestically, and world wide, to whom they define as those in need.

"From each, according to his ability; to each, according to his need."
-Karl Marx

They mocked our morals, and spat out the hatred of their President and Commander-in-Chief, knowing full well that our enemy combatants are watching and that their words were going to bolster their resolve. They would rather do nothing than fight for our safety, peace through passivity, appeasement, and swords into plowshares. Abandon the war, and de-fund the military. That is now, as it has always been, the recipe for war. They are a ship of hope that seems bound to be sunk by the enemy of opportunism.  No matter how earnestly we seek world peace there is always some war bent person, who's ideology and ambition that will kill peace in its infancy.

"To be prepared for War is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace."
-President George Washington

We must ask ourselves, all Americans, the single most important question defining our most crucial national interest.  If Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Kim Jong II, Adolf Hitler, or Joseph Stalin, had a choice of whom they wished would win the next presidential election, which would the choose? Any of the nine candidates vying for the Democratic nomination, or President George W Bush?

The bottom line is I believe we are at a crossroads in this great country, and the two party system is at least working better than we even imagined. The divide is crystal clear. The Democrats have figured out that the more they make us dependent, the more power they have to keep feeding the insatiable beast, more taxes from the hard workers, less payers to object. In the end game, everyone is a victim, and socialism, as it always has, will fail miserably, and so will we all.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury.
Alexander Tytler

The Republicans, for the most part, believe in the power of the people. However, to be elected, one must start with getting elected, and staying in power long enough to make the incremental changes to the betterment of all. But you have to get elected, and that sometimes is the Achilles heal of politics. Whom is saying what, to get in a position to do well, for the most, and which is a wolf in sheep's clothing?  That dilemma is fraught with danger, and we are more often sodomized that satisfied. Trust your instincts, but verify your conclusions.

Trust, but Verify
-President Ronald Reagan

But you must vote, and hope!

"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors."
-Plato

When we look at the results of every pole, and most elections.. it has a clear and defined separation between the givers and the takers, the can do, and the won't try. So far, we are winning, but only by a razor thin plurality.

"Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don't turn up at all."
-Sam Ewig

And I, for the first time in my life, believe that I understand the pre War mentality. Stop it early, or suffer the regret, forever. I think I can see road signs, red flags, omens of history, beckoning us to beware of the danger ahead.

"History is a vast early warning system."
-Norman Cousins

The only thing that can bring the masses of those that will not educate themselves to the issues, or the consequences, is guidance and insistence. In that endeavor we can not be dissuaded. But should that fail, the only alternative is to out maneuver, overwhelm, and ultimately overtake.  Nothing short of the future of our Republic is at stake.

"Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
-George Santayana

We must be stronger in our resolve, quicker in our responses, definite in our purpose.

"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have."
-Margaret Mead

It is we, who must bring this country together, sooner rather than later. It is we, who must take control of events before we, and all of America, have events control our destiny. Our country is divided, and it is we, who must bring it together before it is too far gone and much too late to repair.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved - I do not expect the house to fall - but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other."
-President Lincoln

For those with the power of persuasion, must persuade! For those with the knack of organization, must organize! For those with the power of the purse, must spend for the cause.. donate!. And for all of us, VOTE, and VOTE, and VOTE, and VOTE!

"Live free or die."
-New Hampshire State Motto

I can tell you who they are. They are blacks, public employees, single women who want their abortions, old people who want free drugs, enviomental wackos, trial lawyers, and gays.

I like the way Ann Coulter put it: "The liberal catechism includes a hatred of Christians, guns, the profit motive, and an infatuation with abortion, the environment, and race discrimination (or, in the favored parlance of liberals, 'affirmative action')."

If these guys go in front of the KKK next week, they will pander to them as well. They were black, a sub nation separate and apart from the way the rest of us think. Most of america is not like the audience that you saw and heard.

Pandering isn't what is sad or alarming.  It is the mindset, not only in the audience, or the stooges on the podium, it's the base of the Democrat party, approximately 28% of the voting public want to hear this stuff.  Don't kid yourself into thinking that that base of support is somehow deep in the bowels of the inner city.  No, no my friend.

The base of this despicable party is your next door neighbor, your kids teacher, your librarian, drug store cashier, and it too many cases your family Preacher, Rabbi, or Priest!

Furthermore, I know too many black Americans who think exactly like me, and they are horrified at the thought that they are being lumped with those bas#ards. This is not as simple as ...them, you know, the different ones... oh no, they are being brought into their web each and every day.. Do you want free prescription drugs?  would you like a raise in your S S check, WIC, Food Stamps, union contract, federal pay grade, teacher retirement plan, paid medical leave... NOPE, it ain't as easy as you think!

It is a real pity that there are such gulfs between or choices. One side drastically different than the other. Strangely it weakens the resolve of our own candidates, because the only option is so far afield from anything I could support. Our candidate therefore feels no real pressure to take any strong stand on controversial but vitally important topics.

Third party choices are too iffy, and seldom a sound option, because watering down a flawed choice is dangerous, as we have proven with Clinton.. No one having the welfare of their fellow Americans can risk losing to the other side in any important race..

EXCEPT THAT WE ARE CHALLENGED IN THE SCRIPTURES TO BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING

and to only have awesome respect for Awesome Almighty God . . .

there's been PLENTY to be alarmed about for a very long time. And in recent years, it seems to have escalated geometrically.

And a great percentage of even conservatives seem to be clueless about lists of hazards in our era.
