WASHINGTON (CNN) --Under fire for saying that the United States should be even-handed in the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, 2004 Democratic presidential front-runner Howard Dean Wednesday said he would not abandon the long-standing policy of strong U.S. support for Israel.

The former Vermont governor said criticism of his remarks by presidential rival Sen. Joseph Lieberman was a "despicable" attempt to divide the Democratic Party, which has long enjoyed the support of many Jewish voters.

Rush says the honeymoon between Nikita Dean and the press is over. I can't wait to watch him get mental. What fun it will be to watch him go stir crazy when he does go over the edge!

Dean wants Clinton to broker peace? Clinton who gave Arafat 97% of what he wants and walked away? hahahah

Dean doesn't know what he's talking about, but he sounds good saying it.

That's all half the voters in the country want - someone who "looks" good the way their Hollyweird idols look good.

All style, no substance.

Dean was a mad abortionist for Planned Parenthood. Of course he has no soul.

Dean was an abortionist? Go on! Next you'll be saying that Kerry was a war hero.

and for Dean to call Hamas as Soldiers thereby now legitimizes and calls as "OK" the very reasons why Bin Laden and the other camel humpers killed & mained 3000 Americans on 9/11.

Dean has now dishonored all US Military personnel and has voided the War on Terror in his own eyes.

Well I can only hope that most Americans can see through his anti-Bush shrill and note with alarm the pandering to the "Palestinians" and being Anti-Israel since its OK in his eyes to kill Jews.

"...we do have to have the trust of both sides or we will never succeed."

Dean CLEARLY does not understand how to deal with THE ENEMY.

The bastards brought the war to us..
The bastards preach that the evil Americans and Jews must be destroyed..
The bastards think they can make war on women and children, while we follow some other "set of rules"...

No Mr. Dean, the road to success (peace) in the middle east is to defeat the enemy and then dictate terms of surrender and peace...

You don't negotiate with the cockroaches in you kitchen..
You destroy them...

W isn't going to send Clinton. Get real. That's Dean cockamamy idea.

Dean is a loose cannon and I was pretty sure that at some point he would blow it. Looks like it's beginning to unravel for Dean.

And what's this stupid business about "only the US can bring peace in the Middle East." Sh*t...we've been trying for years and it isn't working. We can't impose peace. The Israelis and the Palestinians have to want peace. Israel does but the Palestinians do not. Arafat has to go before any hint of progress can be made.

Dean also called on President Bush to "swallow his pride" and send former President Bill Clinton to the Middle East to salvage the peace process.

Oh, Im sure you are right. But this is the kind of thing the Dems would "suggest". And when W tells them to piss up a rope, they will say he is not helping the situation and use that against him. I wouldnt put anything past the Clinton controlled DNC. Hell, Clinton welcomed Arafat here to the US, not for ME peace, but for the Nobel.....and it was awarded to Arafat. The apologists, the liberals, Dean, are all part of the problem. It can only be properly addressed when the Israelis tell us to screw ourselves and do what needs to be done. Then negotiate from a position of strength. Arafat has killed people. He has killed a US citizen. He is a murderer. The fact that he is still breathing tells me there will never be Peace in Israel until he stops......breathing that is.

Ah yes, thought I'd recognized that phrase as a dementocrat talking point. Heard callers into C-span and other radio programs use that line....Bush should swallow his pride on the economy and call Bill Clinton...blah, blah, blah.

Hamas is a terrorist organization that purposefully kills children and other non-combatants.

Dean just lost himself the presidency.

But he also said that "there is a war going on in the Middle East, and members of Hamas are soldiers in that war, and, therefore, it seems to me that they are going to be casualties if they are going to make war."

Well, Mr. Dean, one of Hamas' very own "soldiers" was arrested in Portland, Oregon along with his al Qaeda and Taliban-loving buddies and all were involved in a plot to fight American troops in Afgfhanistan, among other things. He was arrested on October 24, 2001.

This Hamas "activist" as he's sometimes called by others who also cannot quite bring themselves to label a terrorist a terrorist, goes by the name of Steitiye. In addition to his little plaque from Hamas, Steitiye's apartment had a 2001 calendar in his apartment which had the date 9/11 circled in red.

And has been branded as such for YEARS by the US government. Dean just never noticed.

As to costing him votes, in the primaries it's a non issue. Who cares? Later, it's forgotten. The impulse, more likely worldview, that would essentially describe the WTC 19 as "soldiers", on 9-10 yet, will cause him trouble, in the unlikely event we're lucky enough to see him win the nomination.
