You've Got Male! (Queer Eye is an assault on hetero males)

There has been a great big whoosh of public palaver about the Bravo network show involving five homosexual men -- the Fab 5 -- who have busied themselves renovating, for a fee and in public view, the clothes, food, hair, skin and comportment of hapless heterosexual males.

I have seen Queer Eye for the Straight Guy several times, and it is not as "queer" as I thought it was going to be after seeing the promos of the show before it started running. To be honest I find it hard to believe that all of them are queer, the only 2 that seem to be queer is Carson (the blonde) and the hispanic guy and these 2 are not flaming queens.

Oh course I know that not all gay men act like flaming queens, but I bet we will eventually find out that few of the fav 5 on Queer Eye are not really gay at all. (the grooming guy I bet is not gay)

Anyone who has not seen the show should watch it before they comment on it. It is not like they are trying to teach these straight guys how to act queer or be queer. They spend "a few days only" with the guys and clean them up some and redo the guys pad tastefully. The best show I have seen of Queer Eye is the one guy that had the unibrow and was going to propose marriage to his girlfriend and they had him put the ring in a chocolate box. I missed the Cop one and will catch it later during the week when they rerun late at night.

Now "Boy Meets Boy" is over the top for me and will not watch it again.

it is a insult to the white hetrosexual male!!!!!!!!

Insulting heterosexual white males is very popular these days, with the left wing liberal, socialists and other assorted pinko commies in the democrat party. I think they are the only group not protected by law, from insult and discrimination. It will never end. I have gotten used to it.

I think Kyan is not gay at all (he is the grooming guy), see my post above.

No its not Archie Bunker, it is about a group of gay guys giving an absolutly clueless guy as sense of style for the evening. Most of the things they thought this guy, a man with an ounce of couth and sophistication would know, like, if you are out at a nice restaurant, how to shell a lobster without making a mess and looking like an ape, how to use a French coffee press, and how to torch the caramel topping on creme' broule'. You know, the usual thing that the man who doesn't consider a meal at Shoney's fine dining knows. Really should reserve future comment until you at least watch a commercial for the show.

Yes, he is. He makes my gaydar ping.

He's just a little more masculine and acts out much less.

Now you should be able to see the propaganda value of this show. Your own statement demonstrates that it's successful. Goebbels couldn't have done better.

I bet Kyan is more masculine and less 'gay' than a lot of the self described macho types here who say they would punch out the lights of a homosexual.

Again I suggest turning off the TV and watching the real world. Believe it or not, millions of real men can shell a lobster, dress themselves, crap without missing the toilet, etc.

But if you get your jollies seeing a clutch of pseudo-males "teach" that stuff, have at it. Just remember, someone is producing this show to make the world appear as they want it to. If gays really had the secret to being a man figured out, they wouldn't be spreading a fatal disease like wildfire and dying much sooner than real men.

I saw this show for this first time last night------two episodes' worth. It was hilarious, but through both episodes I had to put up with my girlfriend marvelling at how the slob straight guys could be so similar to her slob boyfriend.

Ah, but the truth is that only a small number of sodomists know how to do these things either.

Despite the ridiculous stereotyping on the show, very few sodomists have much more fashion sense or taste than your average man does. They just follow the latest trends a few months sooner than others do.

I am certain that you could argue forcefully that there are far more normal men that are adept in these matters (numerically, i.e. far more normal men with good taste than all the sodomists in America) and could even argue that there are at least as many, if not more, straight males as a percentage of total population that know about these matters. Both in sheer numbers and in proportion to the general male population, I think that straights can beat sodomists at fashion, cooking, art, you-name-it.

So if this is true, why no Straight Eye For The Straight Guy?

It's about stereotypes about sodomists as fashion and style mavens and about diseminating sodomite propaganda and, at the base level, it's about the possible sexual tension in the grooming and clothing segments.

Of course, as much as the Fab 5 like to camp it up, they're not even real queers by queer standards. They might as well move to the suburbs and join the Rotary Club. They're simply not radical enough to be truly queer.

"A guy who is a slob is going to remain a slob unless he wants to change. His woman's desire to change him isn't going to cut it. If she didn't want to be with a slob, she should find a different guy."

I know many women who will laugh their heinys off at that one! We change mens habits every day. It is in our nature. It took a few years, but my mother got my father to pick up his socks & put them in the laundry shoot. The garage and basement are his domain....and even those areas are kept fairly organized. I was lucky enough to land a man who is not a slob at all...in fact he will even cook, clean & do the laundry....all while being very manly.

You watched this show with your girlfriend?

And you are still with her? After reading some comments here you would think that this show has the power to turn you into a flaming leather chaps wearing, Barbara Streisand listening, limp wristed homosexual after one viewing.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you started the name-calling. Enjoy your TV fantasy, don't let the truth get in your way. Good day.

My point is, it is a stupid, yet entertaining TV show. I didn't have a sudden urge to put a Howard Dean sign in my yard after viewing it. Whoever wrote, directed, and produced it, had a good idea about a show that would be entertaining.

I don't get this huge conspiracy deal, nor am I affected by other people's lifestyle (unless my neighbor doesn't cut his grass in a month and has a car on blocks). Some people, including Catholics like myself, are not offended by someone being gay.

I am sorry if I offended you. Maybe the Archie Bunker comment was out of line and I apologize.

How about if you go to get a haircut, and a 'gay-looking' man starts messing with your hair?

If a man is going to cut my hair he is called a barber and works in a shop with a red and white striped pole out front. He would be in his late forties to early seventies and has either a ball game or a race on the TV in the shop.

Unfortunately barbers are dying off and not being replaced so we have to rely on women to do the haircutting.

I will never let a male beautician cut my hair

No problem - we all say things heatedly here sometimes, myself included. I don't think the degradation of our culture is a conspiracy, just a snowball that runs downhill as things become more acceptable. A show that presumes to make gay men, with all their serious issues, as arbiters of what is proper for a straight man is not at all funny to me.
You are welcome to watch the show and enjoy, it's a free country. It's just pathetic that we've come to this point, where a straight "slob" is bandied about by 5 homosexuals for everyone's amusement.
