Chaos and cannibalism under Congo's bloody skies

'The soldiers had red eyes, and they were singing and dancing. They slaughtered the priest, cut him to pieces, removed his heart and liver and cooked them. The rest of the group had to pay money or eat the human flesh to be allowed to leave. Another four men, three women and three children were killed.' Among the dead was a pregnant woman who was gutted.
In Congo for the past 50 years tales of cannibalism have been apocryphal. Today they are a norm - what better way to sow terror into the hearts of your enemies than to instil the fear that they could be eaten?

I'm leading a church group to Uganda next week. There will be nine of us, delivering equipment to the missionaries and participating in the showing of the "Jesus Film". We're bringing fifteen translations.
Some of you will ridicule me for that. I don't care. I would ask for prayers from the Christians among us.

A "Protestant Priest" ??? No Protestant denomination has clergy called "priests."

They already tried that recipe, and it didn't work.

My prediction is that the Chinese are going to slowly begin "aiding" Africa.
By 2050 there will be more Chinese settlers in Africa than Africans, and by 2100 there will be no Africans at all in Africa.

After Rawanda's atrocities we were quietly informed that "never again" does not apply to all human beings....

Attempting to bring these Africans into even the 19th century - could bankrupt the world...
Until rational Africans can no longer tolerate the lunatic Africans - and start destroying them, we should stay the hell out.
This is NOT our fight.

I should suppose it to be rather difficult to have a theological discussion during dinner when one was dinner.
Have you considered asking for some belt fed weapons?

My sense is that France, also, always has and still does covet Africa. They miss their colonies and wish to use them to launch themselves to preeminence in the EU.

I won't, and I will pray for you...
but I just think that Africa and a lot of places are just lost causes....
if a culture doesn't have respect for their fellow human beings or exhibit any empathy how can they ever be civilized...let alone worhips God....
to kill children and pregnant women and then carve them up to eat them?.....there is no going back with people that have done that....

what makes you think Africans will allow Chinese to settle their continent, let alone take it over...
there are not many races that get along very well, and that goes for the Asians and the Africans as well....

Episcopal/Anglican are considered protestant and yet have priests.
The reason for this has to do with the history of the reformation. Most of the protestant church "protested" the doctrines of the catholic church, including the priesthood.
The Anglican church protested the politics of the catholic church, King Henry VIII separating from Rome over his desire to divorce - essentially a power struggle. Prior to this, Henry had written a treatise denouncing Martin Luther's Reformist ideals, for which the pope awarded Henry the title "Defender of the Faith".

Tits on a gator, eh? Must be some new "sub-species" previously unknown to science - watch out for a swarm of regulators arriving to protect this rarity.
PS This describes what has (fortunately, only rarely) aatually happened in FloriDUH. 'GatorMan grabs gator, thinks he kas killed it, dumps it in the boat, airboat, pick 'em up truck, and drives on home. Half way there he looks in the rear view mirror and tonight's dinner is eyeing him back.
Gators make bad, really bad, back seat drivers. They are all mouth and a yard wide, and they carry a grudge worse than any Mother-in-Law from Hell. Particularly if the .22 or axe applied to the head missed even a bit and created the Mother of All Excedrin headaches.
Nothin' like a bit of adrenalin to keep one's cholesterol from settling out

Yes, the Europeans left before the continent was civilized. But to do so would have meant remaining for an indeterminate time after the colonies ceased being profitable. Maybe one hundred years or more.
The only reason for the West to remain in Africa, IMO is simply to keep Islam out. Islam, as a practical matter, would bring order more quickly (albeit brutally)but it would be an order with interests diametrical to ours.
