Terri was admitted to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida on Wednesday, August 13th. Hospice did not notify Terri's family of this and they did not find out until almost 24 hours later of their daughter's whereabouts. Michael Schiavo has given instructions not to discuss Terri's condition with her family. We will update this as soon as we know more.

Glenn Beck brought this up during his radio broadcast this morning.

Well shoot I "artificially" gave King Vanity his meds.via his g tube,

un hooked his O2/mist treatments from overnight,

changed his adult purple briefs, cleaned his "artificial" trach and g tube site,

started a new bag of "artificial" soy base formula and now will dress/groom him,

get him in his chair by his"artificial" barrior free lift, re hook up his

"artificial" feeding on the chair, put on his

"artificial" communication device he activates with a head switch, load him and the "boys/dogs" up with the

"artificial" lift into the van (our one older Labrador uses the lift too due to severe hip pain, maybe I should shoot my dog as he can't jump anymore) sooooo

He can go to town and "artificially" socialize, maybe be an "artificial" tourist on the Bay Front art galleries

and enjoy a nice summer day on the beautiful Oregon Coast with our "artificial" community.

I surely hope you don't have air conditioning, heat, refrigeration, electricity, or any medications if you attach man-made means to keeping someone alive.

It's time for Teri's parents to let go.

It's time for Teri's adulterous husband to let go. He can just move on --- he already has and has been cheating on her --- too bad moving on doesn't mean he doesn't get her money ---that's all he cares about.

Can Michael afford to take the chance that Terri would respond to therapy and her communication skills rise to the level where she could tell the authorities how she got into the state she's in? ... That is what I suspect is motivating him to have her executed rather than allow her parents to take over her care giving ... that and the money he would be obligated to turn over for her rehabilitation.

It is not his money to give. It was meant for Terri. By the way why is it you believe everything that this man has to say? What I do not get is how the courts could even consider him Terr's husband since he is the common law husband of another woman.

If you ever turn into a vegetable, perhaps someone will put you in a salad. What you've been queing as a vegetative state is a broad spectrum of physical disability, but in reality the interconnectiveness so that the human organism functions as an integrated whole is what is examined to prove 'someone is still there' regardless of level of handicappedness. Euthanizing the handicapped may be an easier way to deal with the unfortunate, but it sure as hell isn't a pro-life position to stride.

I acknowledged the arguments of both sides here, and was entirely impartial about it. Here's what I said:

What activities are the family doing with Teri....no need to wait for money to start rehab.

Would they like ideas from those of us that have been careproviders?

It would be nice to move on from who is the bad guy as the focus to how can Teri start living today as to activities.

Parents may want to start thinking of how to improve representing Teri's right to life.

We spend alot of time with care but keep active with discussion, media stupidness really gets King Vanity laughing and respondeing. What subjects get Teri responding. Bringing these things out portray her as a person with interests. Does she show displeasure that could be encouraged and documented.

What type of communication system is being developed. King turns his head to the right for YES and left for NO.

Bootom line get the rehab going. there are enough resouces that mooney need not be an issue.

Ifeel it would strengthen her case to focus on how her life is being rebuilt.

Can some one strap a color marker in her hand and have her start some art project.

king paints like an elephant using his trunk so at we tape silver liqued pens in his hand and he swipes at clear charge plates(he sweats bullets trying to hit his target) then I have him pick a color and I spray paint the plate and clear gloss it. He gives out his limited editions and loves to look at the outrageous prices for similar plates in the tourist Art galleries.

I know you have said Mom has limited access but these things can take place.

Come time to submit reports to court it will show a program being developed.

Does anyone on this thread have a direct link to the family to share what more other than arguing about her feedings is going on. Be nice to see a bigger picture.

Personally I would not just focus on one thing.

Start having Teri choose by holding up two objects if her sight is ok.

If she can signal for Yes and No aks her endless questions to start forming her interests. What other daily activities does she do?

You did omit mentioning, those other two family members are HIS family members, not Terri's. Not one person related by blood to this woman has ever said she ever expressed such a wish.

I find it more than peculiar that he would have both such great loyalty to Terri that he must remain married to her so that he can have her killed in accordance with her (alleged) wishes, and such great disloyalty that he is living with another woman with whom he has a child.

Is that a split personality or what?

I suspect he doesn't want to 'waste' the insurance monies on Terri and would rather attend her funeral and move on ... ghoulish, truly ghoulish to contemplate. But our society is becoming accustomed to such behavior ... we've tacitly agreed to slaughhtering the 'inconvenient' alive unborn human beings in the name of 'enlightened' social contract behavior. [I wonder, has Michael considered the organ harvesting industry that would pay for tissues and organs to be sold to research facilities? ... Even the ghouls hiring serial killers to off their unborn are 'enlightened' enough to sign away the remains of their deeds.]

I finally got around to viewing the video clips of Terri.

Did a Google search--and found the most interesting--and frightening audio clip of a former girlfriend of Michael calling into a radio station.

Check out the link-Terri Schiavo clips and click on "Girlfriend." She seems pretty scared of the husband. She believes Terri was bulimic and abused by her husband. This woman says she was seeing Michael for about a year following Terri's trauma.

There is also a bone scan from shortly after Terri collapsed. Said she had multiple trauma over a lengthy period. The link for that is Bone Scan.

Additional research discovered that hubbie wants Terri cremated immediately upon her death. Another dubious desire on his part.

Next week ends the stay against pulling Terri's feeding tube unless another stay can be granted.

Terri did not require a feeding tube untill after her husband had successfully terminated all physical therapy by moving her around from facility to facility, and forbidding basic PT.(after the settlement money was awarded)
While I seriously doubt any money from Terri's settlement will be left after her husband pays his lawyers fees,let there be no doubt that he was very much instrumental in her condition deteriorating.This case is not new, nor is it as murky and "unclear" as some on this forum would prefer to think.
He has clearly wanted her dead as in "euthanised", for many years.She did not cooperate and die quickly enough for him.
IMHO, life support includes extraordinary medical efforts.
A feeding tube,which she could possibly dispence with if afforded adequate PT,(or could have a few years ago) does not qualify.Prior to his carefull orchestration of her physical deterioration, she was eating just fine.
This is not a DNR case.
This is not letting someone die in peace.
This is a court ordered and assisted murder.
What heineous crime did Terri commit that deserves a death by starvation penalty?
Death by starvation is cruel and unusual punishment, forbidden by every state in this country, except perhaps soon, in Florida.
Oh well, I guess we should start here, as there are excessive amounts of elderly people here who have no real "quality of life" to look forward too, and who are just a drain on their families emotions and their own shrinking "estates".
