Terri did not require a feeding tube untill after her husband had successfully terminated all physical therapy by moving her around from facility to facility, and forbidding basic PT.(after the settlement money was awarded)
While I seriously doubt any money from Terri's settlement will be left after her husband pays his lawyers fees,let there be no doubt that he was very much instrumental in her condition deteriorating.This case is not new, nor is it as murky and "unclear" as some on this forum would prefer to think.
He has clearly wanted her dead as in "euthanised", for many years.She did not cooperate and die quickly enough for him.
IMHO, life support includes extraordinary medical efforts.
A feeding tube,which she could possibly dispence with if afforded adequate PT,(or could have a few years ago) does not qualify.Prior to his carefull orchestration of her physical deterioration, she was eating just fine.
This is not a DNR case.
This is not letting someone die in peace.
This is a court ordered and assisted murder.
What heineous crime did Terri commit that deserves a death by starvation penalty?
Death by starvation is cruel and unusual punishment, forbidden by every state in this country, except perhaps soon, in Florida.
Oh well, I guess we should start here, as there are excessive amounts of elderly people here who have no real "quality of life" to look forward too, and who are just a drain on their families emotions and their own shrinking "estates".
