MSNBC: Alleged (Kobe Byrant) Victim seen bragging at a party 3 days later
MSNBC.COM ^ | 7/22/03 | MSNBC

Posted on 07/22/2003 8:20:57 AM PDT by Smogger

I just saw it on MSNBC. They said she was at a party a week ago, 3 days before Kobe was charged.

They said she was drinking (consumption by a minor) and playing cards, and was bragging about.....(MSNBC took out the audio at the end of sentence)

The story was confirmed by 5 people at separate places and times who were at the party and all gave a similar account of what happened.

When asked how the girl looked, the guy interviewed said she looked happy. Everyone was shocked to see her at the party given the incident.

I think someone may have even asked how hung was Kobe upon which she described with hand gestures. She seemed to be bragging according to a friend, but said she couldn't tell them what happened that night.

This just keeps getting better and better...

One I don't believe it. Two is a girl's life fair game for every crappy thing people want to say. And again we will have a horrid thread on FR with Kobe believers and Kobe non-believers all repeating whatever rumor they heard, whatever speculation they want to present as truth, whatever their "experience" and prejudice they wanta spout. Can we cool this and talk about uday and oursay?? Anything but yellowcake.

The LA spin machine in action. I wonder if any of these people will come forward or just remain nameless.

BTW, I'm wondering where the NAACP and the Mullah Jackson are and why none of them have bothered to lift a finger to come to Kobe's defense.

Were these people shocked at seeing Kobe and his wifey partying away at the ESPY awards the other night. All smiles and happy as tho he didn't lie to his team, and cheat on his wife.

So far the "LA Spin Machine" is full of Coloradan's from Eagle Colorado. So get off it.

Sorry, but this girls life is what it is, and right now, it is open for intense scrutiny, for these particular kinds of things...

IMHO the most damning thing that has been said about this girl, and this case was said on TV yesterday by Her Best friend.....

I was watching, not transcribing, but she said something to the effect that, though Kobe seems like a nice guy and everything she is (this is a quote), "Leaning towards believing" her......

Leaning?!?!?!?!? this from someone that has had a good deal of contact with the alleged victim, and seen whatever on the body physical evidence is said to exist? And she is Not Convinced?

IMHO that is a real problem.

Most of the stories are coming from LA.

That's a nice assertion, but you have nothing to support it, and I can't point to dozens and articles and television interviews that concern the alleged victim and the source for ALL of them are "friends", classmates, and townies in Eagle Colorado.

If rape were decriminalized, women would behave differently. They probably would be reluctant to go into hotel rooms with strange men. It might lead to more decorous, demure and lady-like behavior on the part of the women and I think that would be an improvement.

Of course, that's only the half of it. Probably a lot of women would suffer if rape were decriminalized because a lot of men would change their behavior -- some fairly decent chaps would begin behaving in indecent ways. What's to stop them? Which leads to the next change:

Concealed carry for women and changes in self-defense laws. This would change men's behavior. Would a man go into a hotel room with a strange woman? Nope. She could just shoot him and claim attempted rape. Lotta wackos in the world, and men would not take too many chances. This would lead to more gentlemanly behavior on the part of the men-folk and I think that would be an improvement.

Let's see...The National Enquirer comes to town and tells you they'll give you $20,000 to give you dirt about this girl, and you'll remain anonymous. Hmmm....

If Kobe and this girl had driven off a cliff somewhere in Colorado that night (regardless of whether she was there of her own free will or if she had been abducted), would anything really be any different today?

First, I don't know if these statements are true or not. Time will tell. But if these people show up at trial and swear under oath that this woman said and did these things, then it's over. No jury would ever convict. And rightfully so.

As to your second point, when a woman makes an accusation of rape, ever aspect of her life which is arguably relevant to the accusations which she has made is, to use your words, "fair game." And bragging about her experience, if she did, is certainly relevant and very damning to the case which is being prosecuted in her name.

Neal Boortz proposed yesterday, because of the high percentage of rape allegations that are false that a law should be passed that if you accuse someone of rape falsely, you go to jail for the amount of time the wrongly accused would have served if convicted.

I like the idea and fully support it. And I would extend it to hate crimes as well.
