Sorry, but this girls life is what it is, and right now, it is open for intense scrutiny, for these particular kinds of things...

IMHO the most damning thing that has been said about this girl, and this case was said on TV yesterday by Her Best friend.....

I was watching, not transcribing, but she said something to the effect that, though Kobe seems like a nice guy and everything she is (this is a quote), "Leaning towards believing" her......

Leaning?!?!?!?!? this from someone that has had a good deal of contact with the alleged victim, and seen whatever on the body physical evidence is said to exist? And she is Not Convinced?

IMHO that is a real problem.

First, I don't know if these statements are true or not. Time will tell. But if these people show up at trial and swear under oath that this woman said and did these things, then it's over. No jury would ever convict. And rightfully so.

As to your second point, when a woman makes an accusation of rape, ever aspect of her life which is arguably relevant to the accusations which she has made is, to use your words, "fair game." And bragging about her experience, if she did, is certainly relevant and very damning to the case which is being prosecuted in her name.

I find it very distasteful to attack the girl this way. It makes me wonder if Kobe is guilty. He lied saying nothing happened until DNA evidence forced the truth from him. Where I grew up (went to high school) in the early 70's, there were six (not sure of the number)young high school athletes who victimized a retarded girl sexually. The girl was my sister's best friends sister so I know it was true. This never made the paper. The boys were sent away to school (rich kids). I heard that these boys thought what they did was a great joke and the girl was "lucky" to have them pay her attention. Some athletes think they can have anything they want. I don't know if Kobe forced the girl or not. I am keeping an open mind.
