The Freepers Greatest Threads, and Posts!
Why not spend a few minutes reminiscing about the funniest, most poinient, historic, or heartwarming moments on FREE REPUBLIC. Take the time to scan your bookmarks, search your memory, and scratch your head, Freep a friend for help, but find them, and share them with the greatest forum on the WORLD WIDE WEB.
This is the time to show-off, and post those one-liners and rejoiners that make the posters on the Jim Robinson website, that continues to make history, untangle quamirers, and pop enigmas. Rememer Jim and this site as you go down memory lane, and drop a few bucks on the fundraiser, as a bit of thanks!!
I've got my coffee, and a plastic cover on my keyboard in case I am drinking when the best of the best pop up without a warning... Have at it, you are the best......

Yes! That was the thread I was looking for. Actually, I found it myself last night after poking around a bit, but noticed the pictures weren't on the FR thread so I'm glad you linked me to the original Slate article. Thanks!

Does anyone remember the night a newbie got mad at John Robinson and said something like, "Who the f_ _ _ do you think you are posting that kind of stuff." Oh man, to have been here for that!

I don't know why you had a problem, but all the ones I randomly clicked were all good threads.

I don't know why you had a problem,One of my favorites was posted by Focaults Pendulum, can't recall the title. It's waaay back in my bookmarks, but when I opened it, it said 'this thread was pulled'!!
I thought when you bookmarked it, it would always be there, dumb me!!

The best thread ever! It was late one Friday or Saturday night. There was a rather heated discussion. The newbie had no idea who this guy John Robinson was. It was hysterical! Immediately a bunch of people jumped in and said, "Do you have any idea who you're talking to like that?" and 'poof' the newbie was gone!

Another one was a thread about a feminazi who wrote an article, critical of the male chefs on Food Network. I made a comment about the author of the article and a feminazi lurker got mad and took me to task. Several of us ganged up on her and exposed her for what she was.

Great thread!
Been there done that. Long about 1995 or so I encountered a feminazi Park Ranger on a usenet group. Her screen name was riverun. She pronounced me to be, not a neanderthal, but *the* neanderthal.
