The most recent one was the night that Hillary spoke to Baba Wawa about Living History.

Now, this is a crying shame. I've cherished this classic link for a long while:
Breaking: NSA Cold Busted on FreeRepublic!, but now I see it has been deleted (well after the fact). Maybe if we ask the Admin Moderator really nicely, it can come back for a few days.
I also remember one of the earliest thread deletions on FR: "The Anus of the POTUS" (no link). It was active in the days after the Starr Report was released.

I don't know how to access the archives, but my favorite thread was on Election night 2002 when some Freeper hacked into DU's website and posted ALL YOUR SENATE BELONG TO US. Or something like that.
We then spent the next few days laughing our A$$es off at some of the posts over there.
Its one of the few times I remember Jim Robinson letting us link, and/or copy and paste from that evil site.
There was actually some guy asking everybody for a hug because he just didn't think he could make it in a Republican controlled country.

I'm going to be shameless and say the Caption Rush thread, after Rush mentioned FR on his radio show.
Another one was a thread about a feminazi who wrote an article, critical of the male chefs on Food Network. I made a comment about the author of the article and a feminazi lurker got mad and took me to task. Several of us ganged up on her and exposed her for what she was.

Here's the Food Network thread:
