It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.

*Note* ~ The text for today's thread was submitted to me by nicmarlo several weeks ago. Since then, she has virtually disappeared from FR. I still wanted to present this lighthearted, personal view of life and I hope to hear from dear nicmarlo once again really soon.

Things I've Learned In Life

For the convenience of all skiers on the ski lift, when you get to the top, you're supposed to ski off the lift (rather than have the operator stop the lift, remove your skis, and catch you in their arms).

If you want your car to run, the engine must have oil in it.

You don't need to drive around town to find out if tire stores have the size tires you need; you can call them, instead, if you know that those little numbers on the sides of tires gives you the size.

Never do anything wrong in front of your little brother.

Before you bring your children to the doctor, make sure you tell them not to ask him/her, "How do you know?"

Before you get in a long line to have the grocery store check out your completely full basket, make sure you brought your checkbook.

Before you get to work, check your shoes (and socks) to make sure they match.

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar.
2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up.
3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.
4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.

Oh, wow ! Thanks for posting this. The last I checked (about a week or 10 days ago), Nic last posted on May 28th. Her next to last post on FR mentioned having computer problems, so I'm hoping she is just havin' 'puter problems:

I apologize for my scarcity here today....wasn't planned. I've been having awful problems trying to get online today. Late this afternoon, it took over 9 minutes for my home page to load....then when it did, almost as soon as I'd go to FR, my computer (my ISP? the Internet?) would disconnect me....when I did get to FR (finally), nothing would load.....this went on for a couple hours (and this after I shut off my computer and rebooted that way....very frustrating, to say the least). Anyways, that's my story. This happened I think a week or two ago, too. Unfortunately, I don't have cable, and won't be getting it for at least a couple months....it's very late here now, when my service is apparently now functioning.....I'm sure it's the dial up ISP I have.....too much traffic probably, being a holiday.

I hope everyone had a nice day. And, at least I can say, a second time, God bless our military, each and every one! Good night to you all.

Oh yuck!!! I take it this is from personal experience???

Let me add one: Do not unroll a whole roll of toilet paper into the toilet then flush. It makes Dad stomp in with a funny looking thing on a stick and a very mad look on his face!
