A new Conservative Film Institute has begun operations in Dallas, Texas. The American Film Renaissance Institute (AFRI) will provide resources to conservative, pro-American documentary and feature filmmakers. AFRI will hold the ONLY conservative film festival in the country next March. A special awards ceremony, The Ronald Reagan Awards for Cinematic Excellence, will be held, and will give awards to filmmakers whose work promotes freedom, individualism, and patriotism. If you can, please support this noble effort.

I am not sure "We Were Soldiers" is conservative. It is a fine film that shows heroism under battle. Every nation celebrates those who had fallen and those who had served. The Soviet Union made dozens of movies that celebrated their WWII victory over Germany. Are those "conservative" films? Celebrating military victories are not by themselves conservative. Worship of the military is not conservative.

I wonder if someone got the idea from our FR threads on conservative films? It's a good sign.
To: patriotmovies
Hmmmm.... Better hope this film institute has NO connection with the American Rennaisance Party or it could have buku problems from the get-go.

Again- nothing conservative about that. The Soviet Union made the same type of films that glorified their soldiers. Conservatism is not the open worship of military victories. Every society does that whether left or right.

10-4. Thanks for your service and I agree with you.
I wonder whether we'll have any films produced about Gulf War II and our Battlefield Heroes, along the lines of what was done in "We Were Soldiers?"

Conservatism is not the open worship of military victories. Every society does that whether left or right.First, there was no worship of military victory in "We Were Soldiers." Bravery and unity of purpose at great sacrifice is what I saw.
My guess is you have no personal experience with combat.
