Setting the Record Straight (An open letter to Hillary Clinton)
National Review Online ^ | June 12, 2003 | Dick Morris

Posted on 06/12/2003 6:16:09 AM PDT by rockinonritalin

Dear Hillary,

In your new book, Living History, you correctly note that when you asked me to help you and Bill avert defeat in the congressional election of 1994 I was reluctant to do so. But then you assert, incorrectly, that my reluctance stemmed from difficulties in working with your staff. You even misquote me as telling you: "I don't like the way I was treated, Hillary. People were so mean to me."

As you know, I never said anything of the sort. I had, in fact, no experience in dealing with either your staff or the President's at that point, and had not yet met Leon Panetta or George Stephanopoulos. My prior dealing with Harold Ickes had been twenty five years earlier.

The real reason I was reluctant was that Bill Clinton had tried to beat me up in May of 1990 as he, you, Gloria Cabe, and I were together in the Arkansas governor's mansion. At the time, Bill was worried that he was falling behind his democratic primary opponent and verbally assaulted me for not giving his campaign the time he felt it deserved. Offended by his harsh tone, I turned and stalked out of the room.

Bill ran after me, tackled me, threw me to the floor of the kitchen in the mansion and cocked his fist back to punch me. You grabbed his arm and, yelling at him to stop and get control of himself, pulled him off me. Then you walked me around the grounds of the mansion in the minutes after, with your arm around me, saying, "He only does that to people he loves."

I continued to work for Bill since I felt a responsibility to do so until Election Day in 1990. But our relationship was never close and never the same. After the 1990 campaign we parted ways as a direct result of the altercation.

When the story threatened to surface during the 1992 campaign, you told me to "say it never happened."

That, and not the invented conversation in your memoir, was the reason that I was reluctant to work for Bill again.

Yours,
Dick Morris

Dick's days are numbered. He will meet with a fatal accident soon, a la Vince Foster. I've heard him bad-mouth the Clintons before, but not like this.

If Mr. Morris has lived this long, he'll probably make it at least until a Clinton or a one of their cronies gets elected Prez.

No, I think they would try to ruin him financially, etc. Something tells me none of this will happen though…

Saw this piece early this morning but didn't have time to post it at the time. Good job.

I guess if Bill doesn't like, instead of punching you he rapes you.

"48 percent of Americans can't stand the sight of her. But how many of them vote?"

If she ever does stand for a general election where we can get at her, most of them will. Paraphrasing Rush - you will see turnout like you can't believe.

Guess we now know why we've not seen Hillary with either a fat, bitten lip or a blackeye - he doesn't "love" her. I know nasty comments from the VRWC.

I believe Juanita Broderick......and I believe Dick Morris in his recount of the altercation. He may have performed some later work for Bubba, but perhaps he needed to resume an income for himself and his family, was afraid of blacklisting, and, definitely, needed to continue breathing.

I think the doughy, flabby, pasty Klintoon is more drawn butter than drawn fist. I suspect if he really was going to punch out Dickie, this tough little operative would have delivered a knee or two to the proper place on the imperial anatomy.

Guess he has killed the people he hates.

I find Morris entertaining, but don't put too much stock in what he says or does, simply because he has no judgment or patriotism.

Agreed. But now he's our scumbag.

"Dick Morris needs to go on the FoxNews on one of the evening programs and tell this tale."

I'm sure he will, but I'm not sure it will do any more good than anybody else has done who has repeatedly expose the Clintons and their lies. The only thing I can figure is that the koolaid drinkers thrive on being lied to as much as the Clintons and the rest of the RAT party thrive on lying, which would explain the sick symbiotic relationship between them.

Like I've been saying: Dick Morris is a moron who cannot be trusted.

I don't trust him - he sells to the highest bidder, period. If we continue to trust him, as sure as the sun rises, he will stab us in the back.

And when he does, we'll have no one else but ourselves to blame for the knife in our back.

You notice how Hillary gets bug-eyed sometimes when she talks,

Don't too many face-lifts give someone that bug-eyed look? That's what I assumed it was.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. I believe you will see more people stepping up.

I would like to believe that.

But realistically, this is wishful thinking. These people are scared. And with good reason. Remember what happened to Kathleen Willey.

Not to mention Vince Foster.

No, I don't expect ANYONE else to step up to the plate. Dick Morris feels fairly safe because he's in the public eye on a daily basis. To have one of their henchmen "take him out" would be too obvious. So he feels somewhat protected by the limelight. Not so with many others.

"There is nothing humorous about selling to the ChiComs the latest nuclear weapons technology (W-88 warhead design details)- on a par or even worse than the damage done by the Rosenbergs et al. Never mind the rapes etcetera, he and her heinous should be seriously investigated for treason. There is no statute of limitations here. Go after the jugular, not the capillaries. "

This information has always been out there. From the creation of FreeRepublic on, we knew information and/or gathered information on the Clintons for years. Look at Mia T's threads. Look at the books - High Crimes by Coulter, The Year of The Rat, Boy Clinton, Hell To Pay - the information has always been there. Look at the blue stained dress. If not for Drudge or someone like him, we never would know. Newsweek had the story for a week and was about ready to spike it. Look at Jaunita and her treatment from NBC, how they tried to kill that story. Sam Donaldson asks one time about the rape, Clinton answers talk to my lawyer, and no one ever asks about it again. And if it is asked about, the answer is we have already addressed that issue. Do you think GW could get away with that answer concerning Iraq and WMD? The answer is always it's private, that's old news, it's been addressed, let's move on. Now, they are not only trotting out the Clinton haters spiel but now the buzz word is fair minded people. Last Sunday, I heard that about a dozen or more times from different Clinton supporters. Lanny Davis even shot one across Estrich's bow by lumping her in with the Clinton haters. Now it looks like she back on the plantation.

Getting back to my main point, this information has always been there. The story has always been down in Arkansas. There was a British reporter - Evans Pritchard I believe - that described Arkansas as a corrupt third world country. No reporter wanted to investigate this story and get it before the American public. The news media has spent more time and effort keeping their sorry lies from being exposed than doing real reporting on the Clintons. Say what you will about O'Reilly but he's got Hillary pegged - he has outright called her a socialist and he is right. If the news media spent a quarter of the time and effort investigating the Clintons that it did in their attempt to get Dick Nixon, the vast majority of the American public would want to hang those two white-trash dirtbags from Arkansas.

And here's one from the Memory Hole. Remember during the impeachment process, all the Kool-Aid drinkers were saying, "Come on, wait to talk about all this when he's out of office - he's got the PEOPLE'S WORK to do." And when he's out of office, those same Kool-Aiders said, "Aw, come on He's out of office. It's old news. Let it go and move on."

It's a truth-kiting scam.

Forget Hillary's book, when is Dick Morris going to write a book on the Clintons? That would be a bestseller. And it would be truthful.
