'Suspects' Reportedly Identified by Scott Peterson Defense Team
MSNBC ^ | mAY 29, 2003 | Dan Abrahms

Defense sources told NBC News that investigators hired by the defense have identified 'four or possibly five people' who they believe actually killed Laci Peterson.

The sources, who spoke with MSNBC's Dan Abrahms on condition of anonymity, said they obtained the names of the suspects, who they say have been involved in satanic activity from a mystery witness.

The purported 'suspects' were seen in the Modesto California neighborhood where the Petersons lived on the morning of her disappearance, the sources said.

One of the male suspects is believed to have a '666' tatoo-a symbol for the devil, they said.

In addition to having their investigators search for the suspects, the defense purchased the car on which some of the individuals had stopped making payments and then put out an alert for 'repo men' -hired property recovery specialists-to seek the vehicle.

Yeah -- but the leaks say organs were cut out. I'm not saying Peterson isn't capable of that. I just don't know why he would do that -- unless he wanted to make it look like a cult murder.

Easy for a slickieboy to spin that, Howlin... 'member what the meaning of "is" is?

now we have different meanings for "it" to... Possibly Scott meant "wifenapping" by "it"? hmmm, that sounds sorta ok, doncha think?

Maybe they have done some "testing" of that, ala the political testing for "spin" that impressed the heck out of Geragos when the Clinton pols did it...

What are they called again?

After reading the footnote at the bottom of this article in regards to Geraldo Rivera, I would have thought he would have stayed way away with anything Satanic. That McMartin case was a real travisty and ruined many peoples lives.

From Web Site:Finally, there came the accounts of women being used as "breeders" of children that were supposedly murdered for sacrifices to Satan. This sordid narrative was popularized by Lauren Stratford in her 1988 book Satan's Underground2. Stratford's book was exposed as fabrication by the non-fundamentalist Christian magazine Cornerstone, but by then the talk shows and other forms of the tabloid press were awash with the stories of other self-proclaimed "breeders."3(I remember watching one of these talk shows, and after seeing the women who were making these claims, wondered why anyone would want to breed with them).

....And the Manson case has always been fertile ground for theories of a Satanic nature to grow in. Manson and his followers were convicted for the 1969 Tate-LaBianca slayings and were suspected (by prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi) of possibly having committed up to 35 murderers. There have been a number of books and articles written since the 1969 Manson murders occurred that have attempted to create overly sinister, Satanic connections between Charles Manson and the Process Church of the Final Judgement and more recently, the "Son of Sam," David Berkowitz. With very few exceptions, the majority of this material is based on highly questionable speculation or biased information sources. There are some individuals for whom the Process Church/Manson/Son of Sam "connection" is the smoking gun that serves as the foundation for their evidence of a Global Satanic Cult Conspiracy. For a few of these people, the old adage, "Where there's smoke, there's fire", serves them well enough to include the most tenuous links in order to add punch to a theory. Perhaps these individuals would be better

3 Geraldo Rivera, one of the most visible and vocal of the Global Satanic Cult Conspiracy theory, recanted and apologized on a December 12, 1995 edition of his show, saying, "I want to announce publicly that as a firm believer of the ‘Believe The Children' movement of the 1980's, that started with the McMartin trials in California, but now I am convinced that I was terribly wrong... and many innocent people were convicted and went to prison as a result....and I am equally positive (that the) ‘Repressed Memory Therapy Movement' is also a bunch of crap..."

Using the first italicized paragraph.....couldn't the Prosecution use this against Scott and say he was a part of it??? That he used his wife for this purpose and that he knew these Satanic Cult people and was a part of it from the beginning????

The spin goes both ways......

That's a bunch of BS; you just can't go around making payments on cars and have repo guys pick them up.

The way I understand it, the prosecutor can still decide to have a grand jury if he wants to.

I don't think that is correct.

In California you can have one or the other.

If it went to the Grand Jury you would have jurors listening to the prosecutors evidence, and then they would decide if it should go to trial.

In a Preliminary Hearing you have the prosecution and the defense making their case and then the Judge makes the decision to go to trial or not. This method gives the defense a better chance to make their case as they will learn most of what the prosecution has in his case.

So in my way of thinking it would make no sense to have the Judges decision on going to trial or not and then think you could go before Grand Jurors and get their decision.

I may be wrong though. Any California Lawyers out there?

I understand that. But I heard somebody saying on the screaming head shows last night that the DA still might decide he'd rather go the grand jury route. (Of course, Geragos is claiming HE can give a list of people who NEED to be called to the DA......LOL)

I think you're exactly right; this is ALL Geragos spin, including the rumors about Amber Frey doing a Playboy layout."

I am not sure what you mean by Geragos spin on Amber Frey doing a Playboy layout. Do you think he is lying about that?

If that is what you mean by his spin on the Playboy, I think he is correct about her Playboy layout.

The pictures have been shown.

Don't be ignorant.

If you were investigating a situation, you would try to put yourself in their place and imagine the possibilities of what the criminal would do. But if you don't understand that, then that's okay. Just keep your comments to yourself, thanks.

As Jeffrey Feiger (heaven forgive me for quoting HIM) said,

I moaned in agony when I learned that Geragos was going to be Scott's attorney, but I will say one thing in his favor: He's not Geoffrey Feiger.

Can't speak specifically about California, but defense lawyers almost never put on any type of defense at the preliminary exam. They typically confine themselves to cross examination of the prosecutors witnesses.

Mark Fuhrman said that he has checked out the records for cults involved in murders in California. There has been none.

Are you talking about this paragraph and Scott using Laci for a breeder?

Did you read further? This is all a frabication and was never done.
