'Suspects' Reportedly Identified by Scott Peterson Defense Team

Defense sources told NBC News that investigators hired by the defense have identified 'four or possibly five people' who they believe actually killed Laci Peterson.

The sources, who spoke with MSNBC's Dan Abrahms on condition of anonymity, said they obtained the names of the suspects, who they say have been involved in satanic activity from a mystery witness.

The purported 'suspects' were seen in the Modesto California neighborhood where the Petersons lived on the morning of her disappearance, the sources said.

One of the male suspects is believed to have a '666' tatoo-a symbol for the devil, they said.

In addition to having their investigators search for the suspects, the defense purchased the car on which some of the individuals had stopped making payments and then put out an alert for 'repo men' -hired property recovery specialists-to seek the vehicle.

Kristin Smart. And there are also rumours that Scott left ASU in a hurry, with a possible missing coed there also. Lots of these stories are popping up, but most of them are meant to deflect blame away from Scott.

I think we should remember exactly which source gave this info out. Later on when the truth comes out in court (assuming it will), we will know if the MSNBC article had any foundation. If not, why would they go out on this limb? Why risk leaking information that is/was/will be under gag order?

Have you read "The Ultimate Evil"? It's about Son of Sam and other murders that the author claims were really perpetrated by a functioning cult. I bring it up because

A better question is why do they think they have to RIGHT to leak ANY information they can get their hands on? Why don't the laws apply to them?

ABC News learned today that tape was found around the neck of Laci Peterson's baby Conner, as well as around Laci's torso. NBC reports that this was plastic tape, wrapped 1 1/2 times around Conner's neck like a noose, and that a section of his chest was cut out. This seems to support the prosecution claim that the crime was actually a double murder, but it also supports the defense claim that Scott Peterson was not involved and this could have been the work of a satanic cult.

All this tells me, if true, is that the tape wrapped around Laci could have come from whatever was weighted down with her (whatever happened to the tarp?), and when Connor was "born" post-mortem, he became tangled up with it as well. It isn't as if he had anything other than natural force to push him away from Laci - the Placenta would have been harder to expel, and being that the umbilical cord was still attached, he would have been linked to her for a short time at the very least. As for the cut in the chest area, that could have been caused by her killing - and sea animals could have opened the wound while she was at the bottom of the bay, and disposed of her organs (which are normally the first to go when at the bottom of any body of water.)

If it was in a fit the dumb*ss may not have realised by cutting up Laci, he may hit Connor, I don't think Conner was real to him. Or could the baby still have been alive or he feebly attempted to save Connor?

Then, we can chalk that up to further support, no? I mean Scott wouldn't want his buddies going to jail, now would he? He just wants to let out enough information to make sure that he gets off, and "they" don't get caught.

The bottom line is, no matter what proof is offered, Scott is involved, at worst -- directly, at best -- indirectly.

Reading over everyone's posts, the thought crossed my mind that Geragos might be leaking this satanic stuff to cover Scott's butt for the remark he made on that taped telephone call to Amber about "knowing who did it"

Scott can then testify in court that this was what he was gonna tell her, that he was afraid something like this happened...

Could that be? The Scott/Geragos team don't have to really come up with any names then, do they?

And ironically, it is Connor's death that will doom Scott to leathal injection.

California only applies the death penalty in select cases of multiple offense.

There is one problem with that scenario: when he said he knew who "did it" there was no "it" then; he said that before the bodies were found.

But I can go right along with you that this might be what Geragos is going for.
