'Suspects' Reportedly Identified by Scott Peterson Defense Team

Defense sources told NBC News that investigators hired by the defense have identified 'four or possibly five people' who they believe actually killed Laci Peterson.

The sources, who spoke with MSNBC's Dan Abrahms on condition of anonymity, said they obtained the names of the suspects, who they say have been involved in satanic activity from a mystery witness.

The purported 'suspects' were seen in the Modesto California neighborhood where the Petersons lived on the morning of her disappearance, the sources said.

One of the male suspects is believed to have a '666' tatoo-a symbol for the devil, they said.

In addition to having their investigators search for the suspects, the defense purchased the car on which some of the individuals had stopped making payments and then put out an alert for 'repo men' -hired property recovery specialists-to seek the vehicle.

That particular one had a distinct Clintonian flair to it, didn't it? Just like the Clinton minions shoveling their "nuts and sluts" stories every time a new scandal broke! If that's what Geragos did, I hope it comes back to bite him on the posterior.

Look at this:

ABC News learned today that tape was found around the neck of Laci Peterson's baby Conner, as well as around Laci's torso. NBC reports that this was plastic tape, wrapped 1 1/2 times around Conner's neck like a noose, and that a section of his chest was cut out. This seems to support the prosecution claim that the crime was actually a double murder, but it also supports the defense claim that Scott Peterson was not involved and this could have been the work of a satanic cult.

Neither of these reports has been officially confirmed, or is likely to be (press release from Stanislaus County District Attorney James Brazelton).

I think the defense is banking on the hope that people will think Scott "isn't the type" or "isn't capable" of cutting up a dead body. If you're cold-blooded enough to kill your pregnant wife, you're pretty much capable of anything. Lots of murderers cut up the body in an effort to make hiding/disposing the body easier.

I've browsed a couple Satanic forums, even one where they discussed this case, and "showed" their tattoos. Marking themselves with the number isn't something they do, according to them. They're more into pictures, people. And how far away exactly was this "mystery woman" who saw this "tattoo" and how BIG was this "tattoo" that someone could have READ it as 3 numbers and not just a mark/smudge?

Side note: Catch the "Profiler" episode playing on CourtTV right now? It's about a pianist whose baby is stolen from her (she's killed)... first theories are about a CULT. Unbelievably lame.
