Yes, I remember that part about "everything you say can and will be used against you." Scotty certainly gave them alot to use and an awful lot for the public to be suspicious about, and he did this right from the beginning -- right from the start! He caused the cops to look at him even more closely.

Right from the get-go he wasted precious time and made the cops do an about face and get a warrant so they could search for clues that might help "Scott" find his wife. But Scott acted like he didn't care and never did. Then, it is said that he referred to Laci in the past tense. Only persons with knowledge of a demise do that. He acts guilty as sin. Everone wants the husband to be innocent, but it appears he is not. You cannot explain the totality of his actions that we know about -- much less those we don't -- away.

I suspect they are hoping to find one still attached to a "homemade anchor," which is what Scott claimed he did with the missing concrete, and two of which he claimed he made are unaccounted for.

I agree. That would ace their case.

Any cutmarks on the bone will be pretty definitive. A knife ot axe would look a lot differnt from a prop blade. Damage to the bones as well as markings left will tell a lot, too.

"And as always, remember he's innocent until they nail em at trial."

I think the word is presumbed innocent until proven guilty.

Presume: 1.To assume as true without proof.

Assume: 1. To take for granted.

That is what a jury is instructed to do. Take for granted that the person is innocent until proven guilty.

We are not a jury and we are free to express if we think he is guilty or not.

I do believe if anyone of us was called as a juror on a case we had been discussing and had come to a conclusion on, we would recuse ourselves from serving on the jury.

I didn't know if they would have it there.
It's Mancow Mueller's morning show, (I must go on record to say I have a love hate thing about him) and its just the interview with words dubbed in and SP's words twisted so you'll hear him admit to having killed his wife.

Like I said, I believe he is as guilty as they come.

"Then, it is said that he referred to Laci in the past tense."

Yes he did, then corrected himself.

See my posting at #127 and also see what he said about the baby.

I watched Dateline that night but didn't catch things that really stand out now when you rewatch the video. Especially the big grin he has when he is talking to Diane in answer to her question: "Did you murder her?"

The source also told Fox that the condition of the body did not point to a ritual slaying, but instead indicates that it was cut up to aid in its disposal. That theory is problematic for the defense, which maintains that Laci was killed by members of a satanic cult.

Satanic cult slaying crossed my mind early on.....those things happen in the SF area more than most people realize. A cult member might have dumped Laci's body in the bay days after Scott Peterson told the world he went fishing at Berkeley Marina to cast suspicion on him. . And/or Scott might have hired some wierdo cult types to kill Laci.

But all such speculation ended for me when Conner washed up in better condition than Laci. A satanic cult would have slashed him out of Laci and used his little body for ugly rituals. Expect a lot of grisly testimony at the trial about things satanists do. Geragos is going to have a hard time convincing a jury that these were nice satanists who left the baby inside the mom. So I think Scott remains the top suspect.

"no.... it's what you do if you don't want the body to be identified.
...only if you haven't been keeping up with things for the past twenty years...

DNA analysis has made the removal of fingerprints, teeth, and so on from a body totally useless as a way of preventing if from being identified."

True, but it makes the identification take a little longer, giving you time to call your brother and ask for his passport, dye your hair, gather some cash and get out of town!

He did it.

I agree with you. I just hope all of the publicity doesn't give him an unfair advantage. What a sick person he is. Evil!

"Can you explain to me why anyone cares about this subject? Don't you see it as a gross violation of her family's privacy?"

Then why are you here?

uh....there was no conflicting reports from the bug experts....one guy was hired immediately by the Prosecution and he ended up supporting the defense, and the other expert was hired by the defense.....and no, the Prosecution could not tell us how Danille died, when she died or how Westerfield got to her without his dna in the house at all...just because there was a conviction doesn't mean we ever got all the answers....

the Defense is also an "officer of the court" and I think that they can not lie or induce others to lie in the court( they are not supposed too....we all know they do..)....

I don't know if that would include before the trial or not....

but what do you expect from someone like Geragos....or the other "famed" defense attorneys.....their names are notorious for this sort of crap....

there is a certain emotional reaction when one's loved one is gone...especially one the was so "amazing" and "glorious".....

in that context...it was AMAZING for scotty to slow the police down in anyway....by not taking a lie detector test, by not letting them have full access to Laci's house.....that inhibited the solving of the crime....

who ever said Scotty was intelligent anyway?

I have brothers in sales so I don't mean to disparage sales people, but come on....its not rocket science...its a lot of charm and snake oil.....

I don't know where the transcript is, but yes, I remember that she asked about the baby, and he said "Yes, the baby... that was hard..."

And don't forget his other gem: "Violence against women is unapproachable."

"mass, is illegal for a defense attorney to flat out lie to the public?"

Well since the NY Times lies to the public every day, I doubt it's illegal for a defense attorney to do it.

It is illegal however for a defense attorney to make knowingly false statements to a jury, ie., the Westerfield/VanDam case. We'll have to wait to see how Geragos handles this one is court.

"I don't know where the transcript is,...."

I found the Real Player videos from PrimeTime and transcribed it from there. It is a little different from what you said.

Go to my posting at #127 and read it. I also posted the link to the video's.

The big smile on Scotts face when Diane asks him if he murdered Laci, just blows you away.

Yes, lol, I should have read further down b/f posting. I was glad to see the exact quote in what you transcribed.

Scott does seem to smile at inappropriate moments, doesn't he? I can't figure that out.

Thanks for mentioning God's being there to welcome His precious treasure home. I am sitting here reading this, thinking of Connor, coming into the world, already dead, in that cold water. He should have been welcomed by his parents and grandparents. I hope Scott burns in hell.....
