Today at noon, FReepers of the DC Chapter converged to the front of the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
Traitor, friend of anti-American dictators everywhere, founder of Communist-front International Action Center (IAC), former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark spewed his usual slanders against our great and good country and its great and good military and President.
Clark had previously spoken these lies at numerous of the antiwar protests organized by IAC-offshoot Communist-front International Action Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER).
Free Republics DC Chapter has repeatedly opposed ANSWER beginning shortly after September 11, 2001 when they opposed U.S. action against Afghanistan.
The honor roll of attendance at todays gathering of eagles: Angelwood, Kristinn, and BillF. (Although a larger turnout is always nice, the event was at a bad time and we only became aware of this event two days ago. Under the circumstances, we were pleased to be able to hold any FReep.)
The traitors speech was scheduled for 12:30. I arrived shortly after 12 followed shortly by Angelwood. A few minutes later Kristinn arrived.
About 12:20 or so, we had not seen Clark and we believed that he likely had arrived before us, perhaps by an hour or more. Angelwood and I continued holding signs, while Kristinn went inside the building. Before leaving with copies of David Horowitz new pamphlet Who is the Peace Movement?, he left some copies of the pamphlet for us to hand out.
Just after Kristinn went into the building, a bus pulled up and quite a few people got out wearing tags saying Close Up (I think that it is related to a CSPAN operation). Many were interested in our signs and engaged us in discussion about Clark. They asked for copies of the Horowitz pamphlet and we handed out quite a few.
As other people passed by we shouted Ramsey Clark traitor is inside now, Defender of Milosovich, Friend of Saddam, Friend of Castro, Supporter of every anti-American dictator on the planet, and similar phrases.
Quite a few people were supportive. Some were indifferent, but I saw no negative reactions.
One guy, possibly a Cuban-American, discussed Castros tyranny and he expressed disgust at Clarks support for Castro.
A guy in a group of men dressed in business suits passed by when we were quiet and said you should be chanting. We immediately chanted IMPEACH RAMSEY CLARK, THE TRAITOR. The guy indicated his approval.
My sign, based on Sauropods suggestion, said::
IMPEACH RAMSEY CLARK ANTI-U.S. TRAITOR with Free Republics web address below.
Ill let Angelwood describe her signs, some of which were also held by Kristinn.
Kristinn came out of the building about 10 minutes after going in with copies of Horowitz pamphlets. He had handed out quite a few while inside.
About 20 minutes after Kristinn returned, I left the scene as a CNS reporter was talking to Angelwood and Kristinn.
Before discussing Kristinns activities inside the building, Ill mention some background. A week back, I had noted in an FR post that Kristinn had appeared on MSNBCs Scarborough Country. Together with other DC FReepers, Kristinn FReeped the White House Press Corps and handed out Garofalo awards. He then stunned all with his great appearance on Fox and Friends.
In my post I asked Kristinn When do you land on the carrier?
In an audacious move, Kristinn had walked up to Ramsey Clark inside the building and handed him the Horowitz pamphlet. Ill let Kristinn describe the details of handing the pamphlets to Clark and other Communist traitors.
It may not have been landing on a carrier, but Im in shock and awe.
LOL! That would be fantastic to see! Great job as usual by our DC chapter. Thanks for all you guys and gals do.
Inside the lunchroom, I looked around for any reporters to give the pamphlet to. I saw one and gave it to him.
I didn't want to hang around trying to hand them out to people going in the room because I thought it would be rude and might be construed as harrassment. As I was turning to leave, a gaggle of people came walking down the hallway. Ramsey Clark was leading the way.
I politely stepped forward and asked Mr. Clark if he would take the pamphlet. He extended his hand and took it from me. He walked in the lunchroom followed by Mara Verheyden-Hilliard, A.N.S.W.E.R.'s Commie lawyer.
I offered Ms. Verheyden-Hilliard a pamphlet, saying that as a lawyer she could check it out for libel and slander. She ignored me.
Next was Brian Becker, a member of the secretariat of the Workers World Party and spokesman for A.N.S.W.E.R. I didn't speak to him and he didn't speak to me.
Peta Lindsay, their youthful idiot from Howard University was there, too. I should have given her a pamphlet, but didn't.
Mission accomplished, I went back down and joined BillF and Angelwood out on the sidewalk in front of the National Press Club building.
What's wrong with that? Milosevich is being tried by the NWOrld Court. However, if Clark is just defending Milosevich's actions in general, that's another story, I presume?
Now, tell everybody about Ramsey Clark and the rest of the scoundrels, please!
Now I have to get some other (non-FReep) work done.
What we want to see is YOU being interviewed at the Press Club. You and Angelwood are our voices in DC for FR. Wondering out loud, do you think you can get on?
Anyway, BillF, Kristinn, Angelwood, thank you for being there.
More lead time is real helpful! (i know u could not help it this time). Watched part of his talk on C-Spam. Same ol'spew!
Next time let me debate him.
Funny you should ask.
I mentioned to Angelwood and Kristinn today that I didn't fault Clark for defending Milosevich in court. However, Clark does indeed defend him in a political sense (i.e., apart from a legal action).
Clark is not like a lawyer who is just an attorney representing a mobster in a particular case (acceptable). Clark is more like a lawyer who becomes a consigliere (sp?), facilitating criminal activities by the mob that he works for (not acceptable). Clark is "mobbed up" to every anti-U.S. dictator on the planet.
