I'm sure glad that you aren't an air raid warden. The S-3 looks as much like the A-6 as Hillary looks like Ann Coulter.
the last units to fly it was national guard, but some of the fighters were on great shape, the us keep some for testing,so is nasa, notice the orange markings.

He was an F-102 pilot, his time was before the F-16 even hit the drawing boards at General Dynamics (now LockeedMartin). The F-102 was obsolescent even then, and his unit switched to the similar follow on F-106 about the time he left it. The -102 and -106 were both Convair aircraft, but Convair was folded in to GD, but I think those two were California built, while the -16 was built in Ft. Worth Texas. -102 first flew in 1953, -106 in 1956, the -16 in 1974 (YF-16) or '78 (production F-16A).
Couldn't disagree more. It may inappropriate behavior if you're under a desk!
This was an "at ease" situation, and the President inclined his head first. We watched it all. The young women CAN look up to him as a father figure, and I might add.. he got a few arms wrapped around him by the guys too. Quite a few!
They LOVE this Commander in Chief. Considering what our troops are asked to do when the Commander in Chief says too.. I say thats a good thing.
When ending our carreer as a Aviation Battalion Commander, there were quite a few hugs from everyone. Men and women alike. It is an honor to have troops that at the end of the day, after having done all you asked, felt such love and admiration for you. That doesn't happen for every leader.
Our Commander in Chief "Gets it". Therefore, "HE" gets the respect and love he deserves.
Believe me, these same troops would serve him again..willingly!!
And for someone who mentioned why Bush would wear naval aviator wings, I think those are probably his USAF wings on the jacket, even if the flight suit says "US NAVY".
Notice that klinton just had his name on the flight jacket that he did not earn, and his title (probably in quotes).
Both Bushes earned their pilot's wings, a concept alien to klinton.

I'LL COOL OFF THE STUD TALK SHORTLY, BUT... [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
...before I do, here's an e-mail from a retired Air Force colonel. It's some kind of wonderful new day when our military has this kind of pride for their commander in chief: You just can't conceive of how much we love this guy. He commands an unprecedented amount of loyalty and respect among the armed forces. He not only walks the walk, he gets the trap (Navy talk). We don't think of him as a stud; he is so much more than that. He is the guy you hang with in the flight room, the guy you hunker down in the bunker with. He is the commander that is the first on the field and the last off. He is the guy you kneel down and pray with prior to putting your life on the line one more time. He is much more than a stud, he is a fighter jock. There are few in all of the armed forces who wouldn't march into Hell for him.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent ping list.
