Remember, G.W. was an F-16 driver in the Air National Guard.

He was an F-102 pilot, his time was before the F-16 even hit the drawing boards at General Dynamics (now LockeedMartin). The F-102 was obsolescent even then, and his unit switched to the similar follow on F-106 about the time he left it. The -102 and -106 were both Convair aircraft, but Convair was folded in to GD, but I think those two were California built, while the -16 was built in Ft. Worth Texas. -102 first flew in 1953, -106 in 1956, the -16 in 1974 (YF-16) or '78 (production F-16A).
