Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help!  If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

I second that.
I'll admit to having, on occassion, not heard a word she said because I was busy trying to figure out what in the blue hell is in her mouth wash that causes her to dress that way.

The jackets just don't add up somehow, but it's my perception of course.

That's 'cuz she's color-blind.

Dolly, the credit for the pics goes to MoJo2001 (there's more). I just swiped 'em for the war thread. A little R&R between engagements. (^:

Thank you, MoJo!

I hadn't heard this before, but Con Coughlin, who wrote a bio of Saddam, tells O'Reilly just now that he has heard that Tariq Aziz and Baghdad Bob were both in the restaurant last week when it was bombed.

I'm gonna miss that Bob if he was in that rubble.

But I thought Bob was still around right after that bombing. Can't remember now the sequence of events.

Movie made back in the fifties after the nuke war?

Is that the one where some the monsters turn out to be nuked survivors who got thickened "outer skins" from the radiation?

(Can't remember the title either, but the plot sounds familiar.)

Did anybody else comment on Torrie's outfit today.

My husband said it looked like a not quite ripe strawberry.

Ahh, the good Col. David Hunt is on O'Reilly. They both think Saddam is dead. Yum! They must have body parts. O'Reilly says he is not wrong about the looting. Hunt made the point we can't stop shooting bad guys to start policing. Not backing down to O'Reilly. Says he is looking myopic. As fighting is getting over we can now start working on that. I love Col. Hunt.

This loss of time reminds me of the recount nightmare where we almost missed Christmas.

Yes! The year we got sick from working so hard (and spent the Christmas money on the RNC and FR). That was the warm up for 2002 which was the warm up for the war.

Meanwhile, Clinton's spending time w/ the Canadian PM. It strikes me as hilarious tonight.

Col. Hunt alert!

The jackets just don't add up somehow

I think it could be her way of saying, "I don't give a rat's behind what you think or say about how I look -- that's not why I'm here. You'd better listen to what I say, though." And she's the kind of woman who can get away with it.

I half expect her to come out some day in OshKosh (b'gosh!) overalls over a pink turtleneck, just to see what the FReepers would say!

The power dressing mentality is interesting.

Almost like PC?

When I was a commercial real estate broker in NC a few years back, I had to do the "power dress thing" until I was established. Once I was established & had a reputation for my speciality & corporations etc put me in demand, I could chose clients etc. and then didn't feel the need to melt into the crowd and try so hard to "be correct"

I reurned to MY style - not necessarily casual or trendy.. just what I liked. Bold jewelry, distinctive designers, colors I liked etc.

I look at Tori that way. She is a smart, powerful woman.. and her dress style is very surely not the main stream politician. We wont see the wannabees dressing like that will we?

Oh, you mean the Hillary-drones dressed in crusty black pantsuits and Pepto Bismol pink blouses?

They are directing our gaze UPWARD, as opposed to those who say that humans are just animals.

Thank you, cyn., yes! We complain about Hollywood because they've been celebrating ugly and rewarding crap. When the poets mocked our gracious First Lady I cried. Did you notice how inspired the writing's been during this conflict? Mark Steyn seemed to be putting out two classics daily. More unintended benefits of the war...a return of the celebration of goodness?

They are directing our gaze UPWARD, as opposed to those who say that humans are just animals.

I should have stayed on this thread the last few days but strayed off to one of "the museum is looted, it is the end of history as we know it" threads.

So many of the posters are saying that our troops should have stopped it and that shedding blood for artifacts is more important than their lives. It really got silly but they are so hysterical about it. Some of them place human life on the same plane as animals and at the same time want to grill Rumsfeld and Franks.
