Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help!  If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

I liked the jacket also. I get so tired of everyone being visual rubber stamps - men & women both... nice to see the individuality & dress reflective of her tastes rather than going the route of the mechandizers telling her what is "in" & " not in"...

I am reminded of Barbara Bush who was so critized for her appearance / clothing & some of the lengths she went to to laugh at herself publically & at the same time put down the critics. She didn't need to fit a mold.

She raised a son much like her

Fox had reported this, too. The arrest was for spying, I believe.

Awaiting name and more information.

Just back. Did you know that it was springtime? I did not spend all afternoon at the Canteen thread looking at posterboys. Heh.

FN: Artists are traveling with the military, capturing images of the war. Isn't that cool! Culture is returning to the country. What's next? (^;

Spring, huh? I noticed that Sunday :)

This loss of time reminds me of the recount nightmare where we almost missed Christmas. We barely got a tree up.

Yes! I saw the end of the report.

They are directing our gaze UPWARD, as opposed to those who say that humans are just animals.

where is everyone?!

Recovering, celebrating, visiting the link at #753.

The liberation of Baghdad was on April 9th. Yesterday we worried that "Saddam's last stand" could be nasty...and what do we get? Rescued POWs and a stroll into Tikrit. It's hard to take it all in....our military has been so awesome...and our press so awful.

Just recharging. I called Sen. Graham's office today and shared my "thoughts" re. the Democrats' dismal anti-American public behavior during our efforts in Iraq...including not holding their own leaders accountable and symbolized by the singularly rotten treatment of Miguel Estrada.

Also dusted the condo and walked the dog. (^;

I loved Nancy's feminine version of powerdressing, and Mrs Bush 1 was a refreshing contrast in her "I'm a grandma and proud" clothes. Mrs Bush 2 is always very nicely dressed as well.
Then there's Hitlary..and her um, ew.

I like to make fun of Tori's clothes just because there is absolutely nothing else to poke fun at her about, and for me poking fun is a way of saying, Hey, I dig you.

LOL

She can certainly handle those press people, though. Even their new query where they sense a possible "soft spot", the discovery of WMD and when will we find them, were asked without too much of a whine today.

Since we are talking clothes here, the main gripe I have with Tories jackets is that they can somewhat distract from her message. She's so commanding and a very powerful presence. The jackets just don't add up somehow, but it's my perception of course.

the singularly rotten treatment of Miguel Estrada.

Ah, yes. We have not forgotten.

And I have agreed with every word you have posted about certain members of the media. Thank God for those embedded reporters and the Baghcams.

I know I will never forget the Sunday night our tanks rolled into Baghdad. I had turned the tv off and was about to sign off when I "picked up chatter" on the Daily Thread. Quick put on a Baghcam and got hubby to watch, then the tv. Next thing we know, Greg Kelly is in front of the godawful "palace". Stayed up as late as possible. Memories to savor.
