I should have stayed on this thread the last few days but strayed off to one of "the museum is looted, it is the end of history as we know it" threads.

So many of the posters are saying that our troops should have stopped it and that shedding blood for artifacts is more important than their lives. It really got silly but they are so hysterical about it. Some of them place human life on the same plane as animals and at the same time want to grill Rumsfeld and Franks.

Yes I took a look at those threads too. Why is it they jump to the conclusion that looters took all that stuff. I believe that all the good stuff was sold or placed in another place to be sold at a later time. I also think the museum was used as a front for Saddam's papers. I mean if they could use schools and hospitals for weaponry storage why wouldn't they use the museum. I would not trust anything said by the Director since she was probably a patronage worker for Saddam.

And I am willing to bet that THIS administration cares more, and WILL take steps to insure the preservation of any valuables, more than the complainers.
