Ease up there, Diddle, I'm a former Jar head myself...no one knows Molly better than I do...but everyone is calling her a hero..she is NOT a hero...she is a survivor. The spec ops that went in to get her, and anyone else they hoped to find, were the heros. I have also spent my life after the Corps as a cop. I like female cops, but when the bar fight goes down, I don't want them as my back up...I want Joe and Rick and Bubba...sorry...no women in combat will always be my creed.

Thanks for injecting some logic into this silly conversation. Yes, a gun is an equalizer but as you say, we wnat a big strong person at our back when the going gets tough as in hand to hand.

She did, in fact, kick some butt. Read the article.
She's a hero. Through and through, all the way. And I'm damn proud of her. The whole country is gonna be too, as soon as they hear the story.

Well I'm not sold on women in combat either, but she is certainly a hero. Working supply, takes up a rifle when under fire, resists until she runs out of bullets. While I respect your service, I find it somewhat stunning that a serviceman would say that another who was just following orders, got trapped, and then bravely resisted the enemy rather than simply toss up the white flag is not a hero.
Are you sure that was what you meant?

she is NOT a hero She's out there taking bullets to protect my butt. That's HERO in my book.
The fact that she sent some Islamofacists to Allah is icing on the cake.

sorry...no women in combat will always be my creed.
With all respect Sir, tsk tsk.

At the risk of triggering an endless parade of Prayer Request threads.......... AMEN! One thing I can't stand is labeling EVERYBODY a hero. The studs that went in there are heroes.

You are a pinhead. You are so short-sighted and stuck on your viewpoint that you just said SHE IS NOT A HERO. How wrong can you be? They are all heroes you sexist pig.
Good God you just pissed me off...

Don't worry ...emotive reasoning rules these threads.

At the risk of being flamed and called unpatriotic I suggest calmness until the total and real story is searched out, then there will be no doubt about who did what to who and when for sure!

Thank you. Agreed.
Agreed also that she was just doing what she has been trained to do. Trying to save your own life like this takes courage, but it is not heroic. Heroism is putting yourself in danger to save someone else.
